About This Game

One computer. One new message. A small cafe needs your help.

Localhost Hero is a single-player developer simulator set on a virtual desktop. Open messages, a browser, an editor and a terminal. Repair files, run code and deliver results to the people who need them.

Your fixes reach the neighborhood

Repair a cafe's name and mobile menu, correct its order totals, and connect its menu and order API. Then choose from 18 neighborhood jobs involving bakery prices, library loans, bookings, deliveries and event reports. Run files against different situations and inspect the customer view and check results. Deliver four of six jobs in each district to reach the final project.

Write, run and check your work

Follow guided edits or work in the full-file editor. Nine neighborhood jobs can also be solved with functions written in a limited subset of JavaScript. Optional activities include 12 JavaScript function puzzles, five Python automation jobs, five SQL query jobs and six rule exercises. Compare outputs, different inputs and check results as you refine a solution. The in-game runtimes support a defined set of syntax and files.

Your workspace and your first project

Build your own website or web app for the final project. Write HTML and supported CSS, then check the preview and test results. Import up to three PNG, JPEG or WebP images and place them on your page. Web apps can include supported search, categories and inquiries saved in the browser. Publish your project inside the game, then export a supported web result.

Play at your own pace

Open hints and examples whenever you need them without reducing rewards. Failed attempts have no time limit or credit penalty. Play in Korean, English or Japanese and continue with local saves. Completing the story and finishing every optional activity are separate goals.
