About This Software

What it does

Minimum Effort Clicker is a small, free auto clicker for Windows and Linux. It clicks, presses keys and waits in the order you set, so you do not have to.

Actions

  • Build a list of clicks, key presses, scrolls and pauses, or record your own with one key.

  • Run one click or key press many times in a row from a single row.

  • Look recording: in first- and third-person games, Record also keeps your mouse movement, so the camera turns the same way on playback.

  • Wait until a colour appears or disappears on screen, then carry on.

  • Play it once, or loop it until you stop it.

  • Pick a window as the target so clicks land in the right place, even when the window moves.

  • Optional smooth mouse movement between click points.

  • Save and load macros as files.

Toggles

  • Hold a key or mouse button with one shortcut, for example W for autorun.

  • Spam a key or button fast until you press the shortcut again.

Controllers

  • Run the clicker from a controller: A starts and stops, B stops everything, View pauses, Y records and X takes a screenshot. Every button can be changed.

  • Controller to Key turns any controller button into a key or mouse button, for turbo buttons, autorun or a simple mouse-button spam.

  • Xbox and Steam Deck controllers work, including the Deck's back buttons.

Screenshots

Save the whole screen or a dragged area to a folder, with an optional hotkey.

Steam Cloud and Workshop

Steam Cloud keeps your macros, toggles and settings in sync between your PCs, and the Workshop lets you share your own macros and subscribe to other people's.

Steam Deck

Steam Deck support is limited. The clicker runs in Desktop Mode (Game Mode is not supported). Recording only sees a USB or Bluetooth mouse or keyboard: the Deck's own trackpads, buttons and on-screen keyboard can't be recorded, because Steam handles them in a way no app can see. Setting up clicks by hand, toggles, Controller to Key and screenshots all work, and the Deck's back buttons are the default controller shortcuts. Steam Cloud and Workshop sharing are Windows-only for now.

Built to stay out of your way

  • Nothing runs until you start it. F6 stops everything and releases every key and button.

  • No account, no tracking, no drivers. It only goes online when you send a bug report, and through Steam when you share a macro or Steam fetches macros you subscribed to.

  • Runs as a standard user and never injects into other programs.

  • Open source under the MIT licence.

  • Found a bug? Bug report sends the details to the developer with one click; nothing is sent until you press Send report.

Some games forbid macros. Check the rules of a game before using a clicker in it.
