You are the hurricane. I, Hurricane is a strategy and simulation game with a satirical climate twist: spawn storms across three oceans, steer them toward the coast and make them stronger every season, while humanity prepares, evacuates and promises to act "by 2050." Can you reach 500 km/h?

About This Game

You are the hurricane

The oceans are warming and humanity promises to act "by 2050." You're not waiting. In I, Hurricane you don't protect anyone: you are the force of the climate, and season after season your goal is to create the most powerful storms in history before the world reacts.

Spawn storms

Seed storms over warm water and watch them grow, just like the satellite images on the evening news, with the wind spinning around them. The ocean glows green where a storm has the best chance to thrive; choose badly and it fizzles out.

Steer them toward the coast

Push or twist their path: an arrow shows which coast they would hit and in how many days. When a major hurricane makes landfall, time slows down and the camera closes in so you can watch the impact.

Make them stronger

Between seasons you heat the ocean and unlock new abilities for your storms. Your allies: carbon credits, private jets to the climate summit and gasoline subsidies. Year after year, your hurricanes blow past Category 5 on their way to 500 km/h (310 mph).

Outsmart humanity

People get alarmed, prepare, evacuate… or abandon the coast. If alarm grows, the world slows down warming and protects itself better. Forecasters try to predict your next move, but they never see a storm that explodes at the last minute coming. And with false alarms and rumors, people eventually stop listening.

Real hurricanes, typhoons and cyclones

Storms follow real rules: they form in the tropics, grow over warm water, are weakened by crosswinds and dry air, and die out over land. Their behavior is tuned against the historical record of each ocean.

Features

  • Three real oceans, seen as if from a satellite: the Atlantic of hurricanes, the Pacific of typhoons and the seas around Australia, with hundreds of coastal regions.

  • Ten powers to create, move, stall or fuel your storms.

  • No two years alike: El Niño, La Niña, volcanoes and desert dust change every season.

  • Up to eight storms at once in the busiest seasons.

  • The Isobar, "the paper that takes the pressure," sums up every season on its front page.

  • Two commentators: a meteorologist and a climate-denying senator.

  • Story mode across 25 years and 5 eras, plus endless free play.

  • Four difficulty levels, from "Thoughts and Prayers" to "Sensible Humanity."

All storms in the game are simulated: none recreates a real disaster. The satire targets decision-makers, never the victims.
