Launch your adventurers one after another along your taskbar and smash the monster horde back. Desktop Smash! is an autobattler where a tiny guild fights on its own at the bottom of your screen. The stronger it grows, the farther away it stops the boss.

About This Game

About the use of AI

Most of the code is written by an AI coding agent (Claude) under the developer's direction and review. This store description was drafted by AI and then edited by the developer. The in-game text was also written by AI (Claude) under the developer's direction; every language other than Japanese was written or translated by AI and has not yet been reviewed by native speakers.
The title logo, the large store and library artwork (capsules) and the application icon were made by the developer with AI image generators. The in-game character, monster, background and effect art and the fonts are mostly purchased or licensed assets, and none of the purchased assets are AI-generated. The exceptions are some of the effects (such as the lightning) and the ground patterns, which were drawn by programs written by AI (not by an image generation model). The cutting out, combining and color adjustment of the purchased assets, and the shapes and light effects the game draws on screen (such as the countdown sign and the afterimages), are also done by programs written by AI. No AI runs while you play.

About the game

Launch your adventurers one after another along your taskbar and smash the monster horde back. Desktop Smash! is an autobattler fought on a thin strip at the bottom of your screen. From the base on the left, your guild's adventurers are launched to the right one at a time, sweeping up monsters and pushing them back. The battle goes on by itself while you work or play another game. Offline, single-player, Windows only.

3, 2, 1: launch and push

When the countdown over their head runs out, the next adventurer flies off. They pile the monsters they hit in front of them, push them along and strike as many times as they can. If they run out of strikes while still holding the monsters back, they collapse and wait for their next turn.

A skill for every class

Mages call down lightning around the spot where they stop, Warriors blast the monsters they hit out of the way, and Fighters and Rogues slash at the moment of impact.

Where you stop the boss shows how strong you are

Keep defeating monsters and a boss appears and walks toward your base. The stronger your guild, the farther to the right it falls. Stages advance on their own and the monsters grow tougher, so left alone the front line slowly creeps toward your base. As your adventurers level up, you push it back again.

Stays out of the way of your main game

  • While you play a fullscreen game it stops drawing, and only the battle's time moves on
  • Clicks on the transparent parts of the strip go through to the app below
  • It does not keep your PC from sleeping
  • Time only passes while it is running. Nothing is lost while it is closed

AI Generated Content Disclosure

The developers describe how their game uses AI Generated Content like this:

The majority of the code is written by an AI coding agent (Claude) under the developer's direction and review.
The title logo and the store capsule and library artwork were generated by the developer with an AI image generator from text prompts only, and the application icon with an AI image generator (ChatGPT); the developer only cropped, resized and cut them out from their background.
The English and Japanese store description was drafted with an AI writing assistant and then reviewed and edited by the developer; the store description in every other language was translated from English by AI (Claude) and has not been reviewed by native speakers.
The in-game character, monster, background and effect art and the fonts are mostly purchased or licensed assets, and none of the purchased assets are AI-generated. The exceptions are the lightning, slash and healing effects, the spectators in the stands and the ground patterns, which were drawn by programs written by AI (Claude), not by an image generation model; the cutting out, combining and recoloring of the purchased assets and the shapes and light effects the game draws on screen at runtime (such as the countdown sign, the afterimages and the match cut-ins) are also done by programs written by AI (Claude).
The in-game text was written with an AI assistant (Claude) under the developer's direction; every language other than Japanese was written or translated with AI language models and has not been reviewed by native speakers.
