What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“The game is not finished yet and is still in active development. We decided to release it in Early Access to continue building the core experience step by step and make the project available to players while we work on expanding it.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“It is not exactly known yet as development depends on many factors, but we plan for around 6 to 12 months, though it may take less time if progress goes faster.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version will feature significantly more content, more enemies, various improvements, and a greater variety of items and gameplay elements.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The core gameplay loop is fully implemented: free movement across the world, tree-cutting mechanics, the day/night cycle managed via the lumberjack's house, and resource selling. The starting location, basic tools, first night monsters, and the upgrade system are fully available to players.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The price will increase upon full release as new content is added.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We will listen to player feedback to help fix bugs and improve game balance.”

About This Game

The Silence the Woods Keep is a 2D action game with incremental progression and horror elements. You play as a lumberjack trapped in a dense forest, where the line between meditative work and lurking nightmare blurs as the sun sets.

Forgotten Logging Camp

By day, this forest belongs to you. Enjoy the silence and freedom: explore the thicket, chop trees, gather wood, and gradually upgrade your gear. There are no timers or rushing here — just you, your axe, and the endless sound of falling trunks.

Power of Darkness

Night does not come on its own — you decide when to step into the gloom. In the dark, the forest changes. Loot becomes more valuable, but you no longer write the rules of the game. Those who dislike strangers emerge from the depths of the thicket.

Features

  • Freedom of Exploration: A semi-open 2D world without artificial corridors or boundaries.

  • Tools and Consequences: Chop the forest quietly or use a chainsaw to speed up work — but remember that loud sounds in the dark carry far.

  • Explorer's Journal: Record your observations about the resources and inhabitants of the forest. Some pages hold more than meets the eye.

  • Dangerous Encounters: Meet forest creatures, each requiring its own approach if you want to return home alive.

  • Progression and Risk: Upgrade your skills, collect rare artifacts, and solve the main dilemma of every excursion: leave with your loot now or risk it all for more.

The forest keeps its secrets. The only question is how much you can carry away before it takes everything back.
