What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Edgar's Night Out originally started as a small arcade game within Somnia Automata and has since grown into a standalone title.

Through Early Access, I want to continue improving the game together with the community. Balancing weapons, enemies, and abilities especially benefits from feedback from real players.

My goal is to create an entertaining zombie shooter that makes you want to jump straight into another run.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“I currently expect Early Access to last approximately 6 to 12 months. The actual duration will depend on development progress and community feedback.

I believe it's more important to improve the game properly than to rush toward a fixed release date.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“During Early Access, I aim to gradually expand and improve Edgar's Night Out.

My plans include additional game content, further improvements to the weapon and skill systems, and ongoing balancing adjustments.

I also intend to refine the user interface, gameplay mechanics, and overall game flow based on community feedback.

The final scope of these improvements will depend on development progress and player feedback.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Edgar's Night Out already offers a playable zombie shooter featuring different enemy types, multiple weapons, and increasingly challenging hordes of undead.

Players can improve their abilities during each run. In addition, earned Platinum Coins can be spent in the shop between runs on permanent upgrades.

The core gameplay loop is already in place. Additional content, balancing adjustments, and further improvements are planned throughout Early Access.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“I haven't ruled out a possible price adjustment at the end of Early Access, but no changes are currently planned.

If the game's scope and content expand significantly, I will review the pricing accordingly and communicate any potential changes in advance.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Player feedback will play an important role in the continued development of Edgar's Night Out.

I plan to collect feedback, suggestions, and bug reports through the Steam Community and my Discord server.

I especially want to consider community experiences when balancing weapons, enemies, and abilities, as well as improving overall gameplay.

I won't be able to implement every suggestion, but I aim to keep the development process as open and transparent as possible.”

About This Game

EDGAR'S NIGHT OUT

It Was Supposed to Be Just a Little Arcade Game.

Edgar's Night Out originally started as a minigame inside Somnia Automata. Just a small zombie shooter to pass the time. Shoot a few undead, have some fun, and then head back to the workshop.

Well. That didn't quite work out.

What began as a little distraction gradually turned into a game that was simply too much fun to leave trapped inside an arcade machine.

So Edgar is getting his very own game!

One Night. Lots of Zombies.

In Edgar's Night Out, you'll face wave after wave of the undead. Grab your weapons, keep the zombies at bay, and try to survive for as long as possible.

Things might start out manageable, but they'll quickly get out of hand. Different enemy types, growing hordes, and some particularly unpleasant visitors will make sure Edgar never gets bored.

The good news: You've got guns.

The bad news: The zombies don't seem particularly impressed.

Get Stronger. Die Anyway. Try Again.

Each run gives you the opportunity to improve Edgar with new skills and stretch your survival time a little further.

But even after death, not everything is lost.

Earn Platinum Coins and spend them in the shop between runs on permanent upgrades. Over time, Edgar becomes better prepared for the next zombie invasion.

Will that be enough?

Probably not. But it's worth a try.

Straight-Up Arcade Action

Edgar's Night Out focuses on what matters: shooting, dodging, upgrading, and surviving.

No complicated backstory. No workshop to clean up. No robots asking for your help.

Just you, your weapons, and a whole lot of zombies.

What to Expect

  • Zombie Hordes – Fight against wave after wave of hungry undead.

  • Different Enemies – Not every zombie is equally unpleasant.

  • Weapons – Defend yourself with different firearms.

  • In-Run Skills – Improve Edgar's abilities during each run.

  • Permanent Upgrades – Earn Platinum Coins and spend them in the shop on lasting improvements.

  • 2D Pixel Art – Bloody arcade action with a retro look.

  • Replayability – Survive longer, grow stronger, and give it another shot.

Edgar is a zombie himself.

That doesn't stop the others from trying to kill him, though.

Again.
