About This Game

A turn-based space RPG in the spirit of Space Rangers.

You are the captain of a small ship in a vast, living galaxy. Nobody is waiting for a hero: traders haul cargo on their own business, pirates hunt the weak, fellow free captains — the Rimfarers — compete with you for the rating, races go to war and make peace, and prices shift with famines, plagues and battles.

Start as a trader, mercenary, pirate or explorer — and become whoever you want.

Features

• A living economy. Every planet produces and consumes. Prices follow stock, events and wars. Bring medicine to an epidemic or food to a famine — the governor pays extra and the news will tell your story.
  
• Five races and the Free Frontier. Terrans, Aelites, Kzarr, Gromms and Virren — each with its own laws, tastes, ships and temper. Serve a race and its fleet grants you a reserve rank: shipyard discounts, a warship hull, an admiral's salary.
  
• Jobs of every kind. Cargo and courier runs, pirate hunts, escorting a trader through an ambush, demanding passengers, reconnaissance of distant worlds, salvage from wrecks, patrols. Deadlines are real: miss one and pay a forfeit, finish fast and earn a bonus.
  
• Rival Rimfarers. Thirty captains live the same life: they trade, down pirates and buy better ships. Call one in for a hunt, hire them as cover, sell them cargo right in space — or earn yourself an arch-rival.
  
• 35+ classic text quests. A lost caravan, a poisoner at the governor's reception, the mad AI of an ancient lighthouse, a bank heist, a star whale, a rock tour — every quest has several paths to victory and plenty of ways to fail.
  
• Turn-based combat. Lasers, blasters, missiles, autocannons, plasma and railguns, each with its own feel. Armor, shields, jammers, torpedoes, EMP and an engine afterburner to catch anyone or escape anyone.
  
• Hundreds of modules. 15 kinds of equipment, 6 tiers and 4 quality grades. Each race's hulls open different slots.
  
• A captain who grows. XP, ranks and skills in Accuracy, Maneuver, Technics, Trade and Charisma.
  
• A story and a common enemy. The Silence — a swarm of black ships — arrives from the edge of the galaxy. The races must forget their wars and unite. Free play continues after the ending.
  
• Voice and music. The whole main story and the governors are voiced (English and Russian), plus 40+ music tracks — space ambient, battles, pirate dens and a theme for every race.
  
• Seven languages. English, Russian, German, French, Spanish, Italian and Brazilian Portuguese.
