About This Game

Paperwork first. Chaos whenever.

You are a cow. The clerk at the Department of Being still wants your forms filled in. Get your ID, grab breakfast and run your errands in a society that takes itself very seriously, or stop at any moment and give someone (or something) a MOO.

One MOO can start something

Who you MOO at, where you stand and when you do it all change what happens. Flip the queue display, let the official stamp approve itself, and watch the staff panic, patch it up and eventually join in. Follow the fallout through the central district, the supermarket, the farm, the University of MOO and more.

A city with its own problems

Residents have troubles of their own, and there is usually more than one way to help (or make things worse). Hear out Lev's jokes, check the mailbox, change your outfit and keep the day's records and trophies in your own apartment. Beyond the hall lie the central block, a supermarket that sells out even when full, Tomorrow Farm, the University of MOO, the HUMN Human Standards Park and the Exchange.

The neighborhood has a feed

Y is an in-game social network. Read residents' posts, see who caught the commotion on camera, and follow what happens after the crowd goes home. The more people talk about you, the bigger the places that open up. Join the story at your own pace, wander off, or miss a side story entirely.

MOO the market

Your new ID comes with a brokerage account. Go long or short on fictional companies, and watch analysts read the very same MOO as good news and a crash. Get famous (or rich) enough and the Exchange itself opens its doors. Trading is optional; the story never asks you to make a profit.

Take your herd onto the field

Walk into the locker room and pick soccer, American football or 3-on-3 basketball. The Cows take on the Horses and the Sheep in one league table across all three sports, or just play a friendly. Choose a game plan before kickoff or talk it through with Coach Ian, while Q, E and Space cover passing, scoring and defending. Hero or Hell difficulty, optional tutorials, plain-language rules and slow-motion replays of real highlights. The crowd live-posts your matches to Y, and your trophies end up on the wall at home. Sports never lock the story.

An optional Soul Engine

The Soul Engine is powered by a large language model (LLM) built into the game: Gemma 4 E4B by Google DeepMind, running entirely on your own computer with no online AI service. Choose Automatic, GPU, CPU only (slower) or Off. With it on, you can type to residents freely and team up with them on small plans, but everything still has to really happen in the world: no conjured items, no free IDs, no fake money. Residents are fictional AI characters, and messages that match its phrase lists for self-harm, romantic or dependent attachment, or secrecy from parents get a fixed safety note instead of a generated reply. The full game is playable with it off. The Soul Engine is not available in mainland China.

AI Generated Content Disclosure

The developers describe how their game uses AI Generated Content like this:

The game uses pre-generated AI-assisted artwork, including some game visuals and Steam promotional artwork. An optional local large language model generates character conversations, some fictional social text and short resident plans during play. Players can turn the local AI feature off and continue playing.
