About This Game

The highway is the dungeon.

Slay the Tire is a single-player roguelike deckbuilder played out as a cinematic 3D motorcycle chase. Choose your rider, build a deck, and take on the cars, trucks, bikers, and creatures that want you off the road. Combat is turn-based: read enemy intentions, choose your cards, and watch the chase unfold.

Chart a route across the American West and South. Pull into gas stations for supplies, rest and upgrade at motels, and decide how much trouble a roadside detour is worth. The next card, gas can, or encounter can change the direction of your run.

Four riders. Four ways to fight.

  • Hank "Morningstar" Maddox rides a heavy chopper and swings a spiked flail on a long chain. Get alongside, hit hard, and turn fire and punishment into an advantage.
  • Vex Reyes takes a sportbike into battle with knives, spikes, and a talent for leaving trouble behind her.
  • Marisol "Sparks" Vega is a junkyard genius whose cafe racer bristles with coils, coolant tanks, flamethrowers, and nitro. Build combinations from her improvised machinery.
  • Walt Boone hunts bounties with a gun and his blue heeler, Biscuit, riding in the sidecar. Work together to bring down the next wanted face on the highway.

Pick your road.

Eight routes offer different scenery, enemies, events, and bosses. Ride through Monument Valley or the Louisiana bayou; cross the Mojave on Route 66 or venture onto the Extraterrestrial Highway; head for the California coast or Los Angeles after dark; then explore the Pacific Coast Highway or the Gold Country and its big trees.

Fight everything from outlaw bikers and semis to alligators, monster trucks, a parade dragon, and a mothership. Each route has its own roadside characters, hazards, and strange encounters.

Build a deck worth surviving for.

Discover more than 300 cards and 150 gas cans: the relics of the road, from oil and nitro to spare keys and stranger things. Find combinations that suit your rider, upgrade the cards that hold your deck together, and weigh rewards against the risk of the next fight.

A road movie, one turn at a time.

A cinematic camera director follows attacks, crashes, and close calls through changing light and weather. Desert sunsets give way to dust storms, bayou nights, coastal rain, and neon city streets.

Play with mouse and keyboard or an Xbox-compatible controller. Runs autosave between encounters, so you can leave the road and continue later.

  • Four playable riders with distinct decks and mechanics
  • Eight alternate routes with their own encounters, events, and bosses
  • More than 300 cards, 150 gas cans, and 130 roadside events
  • Turn-based card combat presented as a moving motorcycle chase
  • Cinematic cameras, changing skies, and dramatic weather
  • Single-player runs with saving and full Xbox controller support

AI Generated Content Disclosure

The developers describe how their game uses AI Generated Content like this:

Slay the Tire combines original human authorship with generative AI tools. I designed and wrote the game, its locations, and gameplay. AI assisted with visual assets, including card art, textures, 3D models, scenery, and marketing artwork, as well as audio production and store text. The soundtrack began as music I composed and performed on instruments, then used Suno for styling, orchestration, and production. All content is prepared during development; no AI content is generated during gameplay.
