About This Game

Solve a puzzle. Compose a melody.

Balls fall. Clockwork mechanisms move. A well-timed collision sends a ball onwards—and plays a note. As your routes come together, scattered sounds begin to form a melody. In MOMENT, solving a puzzle is also a process of musical creation. Routes determine which mechanisms a ball touches; collision timing shapes the rhythm. Different launcher shapes bring different timbres. Adjust semitones and octaves to give your solution its own sound. When your machine runs smoothly, you can see your answer and hear it too.

Turn timing into a route

Place launchers and adjust their positions, angles, power and movement cycles. Start the machine and watch your idea become motion. Send balls over obstacles, bounce them upwards and connect distant mechanisms in a relay. A single launcher can send successive balls in different directions depending on when they arrive. Observe, adjust and try again until every receiver gets the balls it needs.

Let colour record the journey

Dyers add layers of colour; white dyers remove the newest layer. Colour gates check a ball's current colour, while receivers may require its complete dye sequence. Dye red, then blue. Pass a blue gate, remove a layer and return to red. Combine timing, routes and colour to plan each ball's journey.

Build your own mechanical music

Explore motion and sound in Free Mode, enjoy built-in musical scenes or build your own arrangements. In the Mechanical Workshop, place launchers, obstacles, dyers and receivers to turn an idea into a playable puzzle. Exchange share codes for levels and layouts so other players can try your designs and hear your creations.
