Build a power grid across Wuhan's two rivers. Place plants and substations, match voltages and manage limited supplies as demand and policies change. Try Normal mode, a standalone tutorial, circuit switching and backup transfer, with pause controls and local saves.

About This Demo

Mini Grid is a minimalist power-grid planning and management game. Clear lines, growing demand and limited engineering supplies make every connection a decision.

From your first line to a city-wide grid

Start with the first demand point and build your own sources, substations and lines. Match terminal and line voltages, unlock higher-voltage equipment as the city develops, and use underwater cables to connect the riverbanks.

Keep the network reliable

Watch power flows, equipment loading and supply ratios. Respond to overloads, overheating trips and maintenance. Opening a circuit keeps the physical line in place: reroute power, upgrade equipment or add a standby line. Automatic transfer can close an energised backup when its load loses all supply. Monthly engineering supplies, load retrofits and scheduled policies keep changing your plans.

What is available in the Demo

  • Wuhan and Normal mode: pause to plan and build, or speed up the simulation.
  • A standalone tutorial and in-game guide for construction, wiring, recycling and support tools.
  • Multiple voltages, plants, substations, underwater cables and automatic backup transfer.
  • Seven interface languages, multiple local saves and optional autosaving.

This demo is a work in progress. Only Wuhan Normal mode and the standalone tutorial are available. Hardcore, Sandbox, Shanghai and Chongqing are coming later. Random hardcore equipment faults are not enabled in the Demo; existing Hardcore saves cannot be continued in this version.
