What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Caçarola is a co-op game, and co-op lives or dies by how it feels with real groups. We want to tune every beast, kitchen and technique with players, and grow the world one region at a time with the community's feedback.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“About 18 to 24 months, with a major update every 3 to 6 months.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“More regions of the Glutton King's kingdom, each with three new beasts, a new kitchen station, new dishes and music; techniques from every beast for every hunter; more hunters; and the Glutton King himself.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“At Early Access launch: 4 regions, 6 legendary beasts, 8 hunters, the co-op kitchen, the Paladar technique system, tall tales and online co-op for up to 4 players.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The price will go up a little at 1.0. Everyone who joins in Early Access gets every update at no extra cost.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Through our Discord and the Steam forums, playtests and demos, and votes on which beast and region come next. It's only fair: the tall tales decide how big the beasts get.”

About This Game

When the Glutton King fell, his legendary dishes ran away. Now a Sausage Boar is tearing up the pepper fields, a Paella Crab rules the coast and a Churro Anteater glues travelers to the canyon floor with hot chocolate. Somebody has to hunt them. Somebody has to cook them. That's your brigade.

Every beast is a boss fight with its own tricks and clear warnings. Dodge the Pepper Serpent's fire, fight the Paella Crab in the rising tide and vanish into the Bao Toad's steam. Break tusks, claws and shells, pull your friends out of claws and chocolate, and drag the meat home.

Chop, season, roast and throw food across the kitchen while the villagers' tickets pile up and a dog runs off with the sausages. Every hunter shines at one station, and the whole brigade has to move as one.

The first time a hunter eats a beast, they learn one of two techniques stolen from its moves: the boar's charge, the armadillo's shell, the serpent's fire. Build your hunter from what you ate, three techniques at a time.

After the feast, the brigade votes on the most exaggerated story about the hunt. The tale spreads through the village, and the beast comes back bigger, meaner and worth more.

Tonhão and his skewer-spear, Bento the butcher, Nara the archer, Tuca the little cook, Brígida and her cutting-board shield, Seu Galdino and his churrasco sword, Vó Quitéria and her giant wooden spoon, and Pipoca, the tiny spice thief. One hunter per kitchen station.

Start in the sun-baked Pepper Tree Valley and travel the Glutton King's old kingdom: the Saffron Coast, the Steam Swamp and the Chili Canyon. Every region brings new beasts, new dishes, a new kitchen station and its own music, with more arriving during Early Access.

AI Generated Content Disclosure

The developers describe how their game uses AI Generated Content like this:

During development we used generative AI tools to create content that ships with the game: character, creature and environment art and animation frames (generated, then edited and assembled by the team), the hunters' short voice lines, the music, some sound effects, and drafts of in-game and store text. All AI-generated content was reviewed, edited and integrated by the developers. The game does not generate any content with AI while it is running.
