Free demo of Projekt Gartenzwerg, a co-op horde defense FPS for 1 to 4 players. Two sectors, a WW2 arsenal, a rusty supply machine that gambles with your scrap and thousands of ceramic garden gnomes that only move when it's dark. Hold the line.

About This Demo

They are small. They are ceramic. They are thousands.

1945. A secret weapon program tried to build an infantry that costs nothing and never complains. It worked a little too well. Now every garden gnome on the site wakes up at night, and they all march in the same direction: yours.

This free demo drops you into the first two sectors of Projekt Gartenzwerg, alone or with up to three friends.

What's in the crate

The Courtyard. An exposed sandbag ring, four breaches to nail shut and a tide coming from every direction at once. Its keeper, Der Hausmeister, swings a shovel wide enough to clear the whole fort.

The Pass. A foggy mountain gorge where the horde funnels through three roads, lawnmower riders charge in a straight line, and Der Bergkönig brings the mountain down on your head.

Spend your scrap badly

Every gnome you shatter pays out. Feed it to the Nachschub-Automat, a rusty barracks supply machine that coughs up steam and spits out a random weapon, sometimes a garden rake. Drink Schnaps with suspicious effects. Buy guns drawn in chalk on the walls. Shoot for the head: it pays double.

Better with friends

Pull your friends back up under fire, fight over the last grenade, and watch a bucket land on someone's head at the worst possible moment. Start in the Kaserne if you want the basics first. The targets there don't shoot back.

In this demo

  • 1 to 4 player online co-op

  • 2 sectors with their own boss and a wave 4 surprise

  • 8 weapons, grenades, gatlings, turrets, mines and a mortar

  • The Nachschub-Automat, Schnaps, chalk weapons and gnome drops

  • 4 difficulty levels, HQ orders and a training ground

The full game adds three more sectors, including an armed rail car run through a dead forest where you mount the MG42 machine gun, an endless night mode and a proper ending. Wishlist it if the gnomes haven't got you first.
