About This Demo

LEAD THE ARMY. JOIN THE FIGHT. PLAY FOR FREE.

Try Standard of Iron, a single-player real-time strategy game where you command Rome or Carthage from above, then take direct control of your commander on the battlefield. Build a settlement, raise formations of infantry, archers and cavalry, and bring war elephants and siege engines into the fight.

WHAT IS IN THIS DEMO?

This free demo includes the complete v0.2.0 development build, with its campaign, standalone missions and skirmish battles. You can explore its army command, settlement economy and direct commander combat before the full game's release.

  • Play The Barcid Road: an eight-mission campaign inspired by Hannibal's march from the Rhone and the Alps to Cannae and Zama.
  • Command Roman and Carthaginian forces in skirmishes against AI opponents.
  • Try standalone missions with their own battlefields and objectives.
  • Gather resources, build and repair your settlement, recruit troops and defend fortifications.
  • Switch from army orders to direct commander combat: strike, guard, dodge and rally your soldiers.

START WITH A BATTLE

Learn the commands in the tutorial, begin the campaign or set up a skirmish. Protect your archers, hold the line with infantry and look for a flank with your cavalry. Your commander can join the fighting while the rest of the army follows your orders.

A WAR THAT STRAYS FROM HISTORY

Rome and Carthage are not the only forces in the field. The Iron Sepulcher brings undead enemies to cursed ground, adding a supernatural threat to the Second Punic War setting.

A GAME IN DEVELOPMENT
