STAR CIPHER is a single-player typing action game for practicing English vocabulary. Read the meaning above each enemy, type the matching English word or expression, and fire before it reaches your defenses. Build combos, beat your best score, and use a time-stop skill when the screen gets crowded.

100 chapters of words and short expressions

The full game includes 100 chapters with 3,000 vocabulary entries. Clear a chapter's first wave to unlock the next chapter, then push through faster waves for more stars and a higher score.

Read, listen, and practice

Explore chapter comics and dialogue notes with English sentences, translations, and word and sentence audio. Practice without losing your shield or chasing a combo. Adjust the speed, use hints, and switch between word and sentence exercises.

Choose your companion

Kai, Nova, and Bolt are available from the start. Earn bronze, silver, and gold character cards through vocabulary collection, challenge combos, and practice time. These are in-game collectibles, not Steam Trading Cards.

Bring your own vocabulary

Create custom chapters in the full game using your own meanings and English answers, then play them in practice or challenge mode. Custom pronunciation uses English voices installed on your device.

Try the first 30 chapters

The free demo includes challenges, practice, and the notebook for chapters 1–30. The full game includes all 100 chapters and custom chapters. Demo learning records carry over to the full game on the same device.

Before you play

Keyboard input is required. The interface and learning translations support Korean, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese. Learning words, sentences, and pronunciation are in English. An English-language interface is not currently offered. Progress is stored locally; automatic cross-device cloud sync is not included.

Generative AI was used during development to create character and environment artwork, comic illustrations, achievement-card artwork, store artwork, music, and English pronunciation audio, and to assist with learning dialogue and localization. This content is prepared in advance and included with the game. The game does not generate AI content or connect to third-party AI services during gameplay. Custom chapters use the device’s available text-to-speech voices.
