About This Game

A tiny defense game for the corner of your screen

Tiny Ring Defense runs in a small transparent window on your desktop. Monsters march around a ring that circles your board, and the heroes inside fight them automatically. Keep working, studying or watching videos while the battle goes on, and glance over now and then to spend the coins you have earned.

Summon, merge, level up

Spend coins to summon heroes onto the board. Each summon brings one of five classes in one of three grades: Common, Rare or Epic (1%) — or, very rarely (0.1%), a classless Mythic hero who can wield any weapon. Drag a hero onto another of the same kind to merge them, or feed a lower-grade hero to a higher-grade one of the same class. Before you let go, a preview shows how much the hero will grow, up to 5 stars. Level up each hero with coins, up to Lv 100.

Draw and forge weapons

Draw weapons with in-game coins in four rarities: Common, Rare, Epic and Legendary. Give each hero a weapon for its class and forge it up to +25. The higher you forge, the lower the success chance, and a failed forge destroys the weapon. There are no real-money purchases.

Six worlds, each with a twist

Meadow, Desert, Swamp, Snowfield, Graveyard and Volcano each bring six new monsters and their own music. Every world changes the fight: fast monsters, tough ones, swarms that shrug off slows, ghosts that dodge ranged attacks and armored foes. After World 6 the worlds come around again with stronger monsters.

Bosses on the clock

Each stage ends with a boss that walks one lap of the ring. Defeat it before it finishes the lap, or it escapes and comes back later. Turn off auto-boss to keep farming a stage, then call the boss when you are ready. World bosses arrive with escorts.

No game over

If 100 monsters pile up on the ring, you drop back one stage and keep earning.

Features

  • A small transparent window: clicks on empty areas pass through to your other windows, and you can drag it anywhere
  • Hides while a fullscreen game or video is running, and the battle keeps going
  • Fold the side panel away to leave just the board
  • Window size from 50% to 200% in pixel-perfect steps, and Shift+Tab minimizes or restores it from anywhere
  • 17 heroes: five classes (Knight, Archer, Mage, Priest and Ninja) in Common, Rare and Epic grades, each class with its own attack, plus two classless Mythic heroes
  • Merge and feed up to 5 stars, level up and equip each hero on its own, draw and forge weapons up to +25
  • 6 worlds, 60 stages, 36 monsters, stage bosses and world bosses
  • 27 goals with coin rewards, from your first summon to week-long challenges
  • 7 chiptune tracks and 8-bit sound effects. Battle sounds can be turned off
  • Always-on-top option and volume settings
  • English, Korean, Japanese, Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese
  • Progress is saved automatically

Good to know

  • The game only progresses while it is running. There is no offline progress.
  • It is paced to be left running: getting through all six worlds takes about a week of workdays.
  • To quit, open Settings and choose Quit game, or press Ctrl + Alt + Shift + Q at any time.
