What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“The core experience of mining, exploration, and factory building is already playable. We're using Early Access to learn from the people playing Terra Machina and refine its balance, controls, multiplayer experience, and stability before the full release.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We currently expect Early Access to last around one to two months. This timeframe may change depending on development progress and player feedback.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“For the full release, we aim to add more biomes, endgame content, and Steam achievements. We also plan to refine the existing gameplay and fix bugs during Early Access. The scope may change as development progresses and we receive player feedback.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Approximately 80% of the content we currently have planned is complete. You can mine and process resources, build factories connected by pipes, research technologies and upgrade equipment, explore biomes, mine with vehicles, build and decorate, collect pets, and play in co-op with up to four players. Some additional content and endgame content are still in development, and we continue to work on balance, optimization, and bug fixes.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We currently have no plans to change the price during Early Access or at the full release.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Please share bug reports, your experiences, and suggestions on the Steam Community forums. Your feedback will help us decide which improvements and fixes to prioritize. We plan to share major updates and development news through Steam announcements.”

About This Game

Dig to build your factory. Build your factory to dig even more. TerraMachina is a 2D mining and factory sandbox where every new discovery fuels bigger machines, stronger equipment, and your next expedition.

Dig, dig, and dig some more!

Put your drill to work on walls of rock and rich veins of ore!

Start small, then upgrade your gear until you can tear through layers that once slowed you down. Go faster. Dig deeper. Uncover strange ores, plants, hidden caves, and buried ruins. Send your discoveries to the factory and turn them into your next drill upgrade.

Mass production. Massive consumption.

Grow a humble crushing and smelting line into a sprawling factory packed with machines and pipes.

Process ores with different compositions, shape metals into parts, and turn those parts into more machines. Advance through alloys, fluid processing, heavy industry, and fusion technology. Connect production lines, run machines in parallel, and put byproducts back to work. Then watch the factory you designed chew through mountains of material.

Spend the output on stronger equipment and bigger factories. Make more. Use more. Keep growing!

Build factories across worlds!

Step through the gate into worlds with different resources and environments.

  • Forests are rich in water, coal, and natural resources.

  • Snowfields offer ice and snow for new production lines.

  • Jungles supply acid, honey, and sludge. Unusual ingredients still have a place in your factory!

  • Volcanic worlds challenge you with searing heat and resources such as lava and sulfur.

Build local power systems and factories, process resources on site, and ship the results back to your home base. Wind, temperature, and humidity all matter. Decide what to produce in each world, and make its environment work for you.

Overwhelm your enemies with science!

Your factory can make much more than mining gear.

Send enemies flying with a bat. Smash crowds with a hammer's shockwave. Unleash sword combos, lightning-fast KATANA strikes, piercing lasers, and swarms of homing missiles. Put all that industrial power to spectacular use!

Take on nests in mining worlds or venture into ancient research facilities built around combat. Upgrade your weapons, equip a barrier, and face enemy hordes and towering mechanical bosses. Just keep an eye on your energy supply!

Go solo, or build together.

Play alone or in co-op for up to 4 players. Mine, manufacture, build, and battle as you please. Decorate a cozy corner of your factory, bring a cute pet along, and head out on your next adventure.

This content is prepared in advance and included as fixed assets; the game does not generate new images, audio or dialogue with generative AI during play.

Mature Content Description

The developers describe the content like this:

This game features frequent, stylized fantasy combat against fictional creatures and mechanical enemies. Players use bats, swords, guns, lasers and other weapons. Combat includes knockback, explosions and shockwaves. Defeated creatures retreat with star effects. There is no blood, gore, corpses or sexual content.
