About This Demo

Pull the loose threads. Find the tight-knit core.

Knitwork is a cozy puzzle game that invites you to explore how well connected each button in a network is. Orphaned buttons with only one connection easily fall off the network, whereas those within tightly knit circles are happily protected. Or are they? Being connected to many orphaned buttons means you won’t last long.

You will peel away the unstable buttons to uncover the heart of each network, be it big or small, where every node has the maximum number of connections. 

Try for a New High Score

Nobody likes getting stuck, so hints are readily available if you need them (although using them will lower your score). And of course, we all make mistakes. You can restart a level at any time to try for a higher score, or move on to the next puzzle.

Learn as You Play

Knitwork is based on a real mathematical theory of social networks called k-cores, which has been used to study how people are connected. It is also being applied to understand the way that neurons communicate in the brain, to inform the design of more resilient communications networks, and to find fraud in transactions. Not every brain teaser has so many real world applications!

Wishlist for Endless Fun

This demo has the first 37 hand-crafted and playtested levels in the full game.  The full-game will have over 150 playtested levels, and will include an endless mode, so you will never run out of puzzles! Select your desired puzzle size and difficulty to generate your own level, from a quick knit check to a gordian knot.
