You Must NEVER Break The Chain

   The classic game you already recognise brought back to life by my wife and I in our family studio's first release, except now you get to play YOUR way.

   If you want to chase high scores, it's all here: fast reactions, moment-to-moment decisions, escalating difficulty that you make harder all by yourself, and that familiar *one more try* feeling.

   As your score chain climbs, the time you have to keep it alive drops fast. You'll need to master the game's smooth, fluid movement and simple-but-deadly dash mechanic, constantly weighing up where to go next and whether the risk is worth it.

Or... don't.

   You can always play at your own pace, to relax. Let the smooth, free-flowing movement become something absorbing and chilled. Use it as something to help you switch off, relieve stress and settle into a rhythm.

   Serpent Chain includes 15 visual themes, ranging from serene to intense, so you can find something that suits the way you want to play and whatever mood you're in. We've also included accessible themes designed with colourblindness in mind.

   The game comes with an original soundtrack composed by the incredibly talented 'zenpry' (who also happens to be our son, not that we're biased), but we also absolutely had to bring back a criminally forgotten mechanic from the past:

Bring Your Own Soundtrack

   Drop any legitimately acquired MP3 files you own into the game's `mp3` folder and Serpent Chain can play them as your own custom soundtrack.

   Play however feels comfortable. Gamepad is recommended, but keyboard and even mouse controls are fully supported. Pick up whatever suits you best and start playing. The game will adjust to you.

   We've also developed Serpent Chain specifically with Steam Deck and low-end hardware in mind. So grab your old 2015 laptop and give it a shot.

   If you're here for the score chasing, there are dynamic online leaderboards covering global high scores, daily records and scores between you and your friends. There are also ten achievements to work towards if you enjoy having something to aim for.

   But to be honest, whatever you want, Serpent Chain is for you.

   Maybe you want a fast, reaction-heavy arcade game where every second matters.

   Maybe you want something quiet and relaxing to play between whatever enormous 100-hour blockbuster has taken over your life.

   Maybe you want both.

However you play, you can go your own way.
