About This Game

A narrative third-person shooter for one player, inspired by a legend from southern Chile.

You are ATL-03, sent to an island to recover anything of value. What you find is what remains of a scientific community, and its machines are still running. No PvP, no other players: just you, the island and what you choose to bring back.

▶ Gameplay

• Prepare at the Base. Choose your gear, review what you know and receive your orders from M.R.S. Control.

• Enter hostile sectors. Rainforest, rocky coast, fog, peat bogs and concrete bunkers.

• Avoid or fight. Each security machine acts in its own way. Learn its patterns, break its weak points or stay out of its sight.

• Decide what fits. Your inventory is limited. Supplies, ammo or the evidence that moves the story forward: something always gets left behind.

• Escape or lose everything. If you die before reaching the exit, you lose everything you were carrying on that run.

▶ The "Friendship" island Myth

Since the 1980s, a legend has circulated in southern Chile: radio transmissions coming from Friendship, an island inhabited by a community no one could find.

It is a legend, not a documented fact. The Friendship Protocol takes it as its starting point and builds a fictional story on top of it.

▶ The Operation

Meridian Resource Systems has finally traced the signal. Through the static, only one word is intelligible, "Friendship," and the corporation turns it into the name of an operation. You are ATL-03, a reconnaissance specialist of the A.T.L.A.S. corps, sent to recover anything of value.

What remains on the island is what a scientific community left behind after decades of studying KURA: a material found nowhere else, capable of storing, transmitting and transforming information, energy and life. Its facilities are still running. So are its machines.

▶ The story

Every record, map, photograph and sample you bring back answers part of a question the corporation isn't asking: who these people were, what they were looking for and why they disappeared. The evidence is incomplete and sometimes contradictory. And the island seems to know you're coming.

▶ Features

• Single-player, no PvP. No other players and no mandatory online connection.

• A story told by the place. Architecture, signage, documents and old transmissions that interfere with your orders.

• Machines altered by KURA. Aerial units, quadrupeds and a human-scale biped, each with its own sound signature.

• A voice on the radio. Your operator aboard the M.R.S. ship guides you and reports what doesn't add up.

• Science fiction from southern Chile. Late-1970s analog science, brutalist concrete and a corporation that catalogs everything as an asset.
