Let AutoKey Handle Repetitive Input

AutoKey is a keyboard and mouse automation tool for Windows. Organize repeated presses and holds into groups, choose a target window, and control each group with custom hotkeys or on-screen buttons.

Key Features

• Keyboard and Mouse Repetition and Holds

Configure keyboard keys and the left and right mouse buttons, with separate repeat intervals and hold durations.

• Groups and Custom Hotkeys

Create, name, and search groups for different tasks. Assign a hotkey to each group and start or stop groups independently.

• Set Keys by Pressing Them

Press the key or key combination you want to assign. To configure a mouse button, click it within the designated recording area.

• Run Once or Keep Looping

In Once mode, all enabled rules start together, and the group stops when they finish. In Loop mode, rules repeat according to your settings until stopped.

• Clear Status and Stop Controls

Check each group's status, stop an individual group, or use Stop All to stop every group. Execution also stops when the target window closes or your computer locks or enters sleep mode.

• 31 Interface Languages

AutoKey selects an interface language based on your Windows display language on first launch. You can also choose a language manually. Groups, key rules, and language preferences are saved for future use.

Getting Started

Select the target application's window, create a group, add and enable key rules, and choose Once or Loop mode. Then press the group's hotkey to begin.

All groups share the currently selected target window. When you reopen AutoKey, every group remains stopped until you select a target and start execution.

Before You Buy

AutoKey works with Windows applications that accept background keyboard and mouse messages. It can continue sending messages after you switch to another window or minimize the target. Results depend on the target application; compatibility with every application or game is not guaranteed.

Mouse actions use the current cursor position and do not move the cursor automatically. Key recording assigns a single input key or a group hotkey; it does not record complete workflows or macro sequences. Rules in Once mode start together rather than running sequentially down the list.

Before use, check that the target application permits automation. Actual timing depends on Windows scheduling and the target application.
