About This Game

YOU BUY THE CASE, PULL THE LEVER, AND KEEP EVERYTHING

CASE OPENED is a case-opening roguelite about building a weapon collection that will be worth something. Every stage a appraiser names a number. Your job is to own a collection worth at least that much, one weapon at a time. Win over the appraisal targets, and get to keep every weapon with a personal collection.

THE PART THAT YOU CAME FOR!

The belt spins, fast. Then it slows, and you get what you get. A game completely transparent about case odds, without any "house cuts". The chance that your build through your campaing is the chance that you are getting. But maybe there is something more special coming down this lane...

EVERY WEAPON IS ITS OWN THING

There will be over 50 weapons on the official launch across pistols, SMGs, shotguns, rifles, snipers and machine guns, in six rarities and dozens of themes. Every copy rolls its own wear, from Factory New to War Veteran, and you keep it forever! Two of the same gun are two different guns, and one of them may be worth more.

NEVER THE SAME

The game has a seeded skin pattern. The metal, the theme, the handle, the scope are drawn from a giant pull of images. This means exactly what you are thinking: Over 100 billion combinations. The chance for you and your friend to pull the exact same skin is the same as likely as rolling 24 heads in a row.

24 STAGES WITH A LOT OF STRANGE PEOPLE

Work your way from the Scrap Vaults to the Null Vault. Each stage has its own appraiser, and most of them have a rule: fewer cases, a better draw, a bigger target for a bigger payout. Every sector ends with a boss buyer who doesn't care how you got here. Clear all twenty-four and Endless opens up, where the targets keep climbing until one of them doesn't get met.

A game clearly only about opening weapon cases! But wait... who are they?

BUILD SOMETHING WEIRD

Hang up to eight Adhesives on your Master Key, in order, because order matters. Some make Commons worth chasing. Some turn a showcase shelf into a strategy. Some stack on top of each other until the numbers stop making sense, and that's allowed. Crack Capsules for new ones, pry open cases with one of THE Crowbars that each bend the rules a different way, and put your three favourite weapons on display.

A TURN IN EVERY CORNER!

Every wanted a different hit to your roguelike runs? So prepare yourself, because one thing this game isnt missing is certainly mini-games that can make every run feel unique, and give you a helping hand if you ever need one. Sometimes there's a detour: send your best piece down a lift to a row of shuttered vaults and see who bids, or put a weapon on the table at High Stakes and walk away with something better. Or with nothing.

THE DEALER IS IN!

Wanna a break from climbing? Sign a contract, hand over four weapons, and let his pager pick the one you get back.

WHATS IN THE BOX?

AI Generated Content Disclosure

The developers describe how their game uses AI Generated Content like this:

Case Opened is made by a solo developer with no art budget to spare. Some of the art that ships in the game was created with generative AI: the Adhesives (stickers), the portraits of the appraisal targets, and some weapon masks. The weapon themes ARE NOT AI-generated. No AI generates content while you play. Our goal is to raise funds to hire artists and replace this art before the full release.
