About This Game

Cultivation is part of everyday life

Spiritual energy returned decades ago. Cultivation is now as much a part of modern life as school, work, and starting a family. Flying-sword classes have exams. Passing probation means winning a duel. And Mom still compares you to someone else's kid.

You Can Do Better! (别人家孩子都筑基了!) is a modern-day cultivation life sim with automatic battles. Each run follows a life from childhood to old age. When this life ends, the next generation carries on.

Put your techniques in order before the fight

You can learn plenty of techniques, but only bring a few into battle. Before each fight, choose your techniques and arrange their order. Once the fight begins, they activate in that sequence without any further input.

Use "Sink Your Qi" to build Momentum, then spend it on a "Basic Strike." Some techniques set up the next move. Others need the right conditions to shine. The same techniques in a different order can lead to a very different result.

You can see your opponent's techniques and their order before the fight. When a reliable setup stops working, swap a few techniques and rearrange them. As you reach higher cultivation realms, you can bring more techniques into battle.

How will you spend this year?

Cultivate, pursue further studies, or head out to explore? School sparring matches, challenges at work, and inner demons faced during breakthroughs all call on the skills you've learned in this life.

The PE teacher is "off sick" again, so it's another techniques class. Your Lunar New Year money comes in spirit stones, and Mom still wants to keep it safe for you. Familiar childhood moments turn up again, with a cultivation twist.

Someone mentions the kid next door over dinner. You keep your head down and finish your meal. After washing the dishes, you hear a phone call from the balcony: "Our kid's doing pretty well, too."

Lose some battles and you miss out on a reward. Lose at certain turning points and this life comes to an end.

What one life leaves to the next

At the end of a life, look back on the path you've taken and leave one final wish for the next generation: build a solid foundation, give the child a better life, or see more of the world. You'll hear those words when your next life begins.

The person holding you when you're born is you from your previous life.

Spend the Family Points you've earned on legacy bonuses, and pass the family heirlooms you've found to the next generation. Give the next life a better place to start.

The next generation picks up where this life left off. As for how many generations it takes for someone to ascend, nobody knows yet.
