About This Game

Rune Force is a fast-paced survival roguelite about merging elemental runes, binding them into bonds, and defending the Core from waves of monsters and bosses.

RUNE FORCE — MERGE, FIGHT, SURVIVE!

Your runes are your fortress.

Runes are more than weapons. They are the walls of your run.

Place them on the grid battlefield around the Core. Drag any rune onto its twin and the two become one, a tier higher. Seven tiers to climb, and quick merges build a streak.

Merge to fight! But don't take too long. The waves won't wait. There could be a dragon coming!

SURVIVE ESCALATING WAVES

A full Rune Force run crosses six increasingly dangerous biomes, each pushing you closer to the final trial.

Enemy pressure grows.

Bosses break up your strategy.

Your available space becomes more valuable.

And eventually, every weakness in your defense gets tested.

Protect the Core. If it falls, the run ends.

BIND ELEMENTS

Every rune bonds with the different elements fighting beside it.

Put Tide beside Ember, and hits on soaked enemies burst into Steam, splashing damage across the whole pack. Put Iron beside Umbra, and monsters that strike them are hurled back. Thirty bonds wait to be discovered.

Merging concentrates your power into fewer, stronger runes, so every merge changes the shape of your defense. Chase towering high-tier runes, or keep enough runes side by side for bonds and a wall that covers every approach. Finding that balance is the heart of every run.

CREATE A BUILD AS YOU FIGHT

Every level-up offers three cards that can reshape the rest of your run.

Your build grows from:

[*]Upgrade cards

[*]Relics — one of three between biomes

[*]Charms — rare drops you catch mid-fight

[*]Elemental bonds

[*]Higher-tier merged runes

[*]Strategic positioning

Some builds become precise defensive machines.

Others become barely controlled magical disasters.

Finding out which one you created is part of the fun.

FACE DEVASTATING BOSSES

Every biome ends with a boss.

Boss encounters interrupt the normal rhythm of survival. No new runes arrive while a boss lives, and your build has to prove itself.

Defeating them pushes the run forward, opens new relics, and brings you closer to the greatest threat waiting at the end:

The Grand Wyrm.

BRACE FOR WORLD OMENS

Some waves arrive as World Omens: crises the game warns you about moments before they strike, each changing how the wave attacks.

FRENZY — they come in packs.

IRON MARCH — the heavies advance.

BLACK TIDE — a ranged assault.

CONVERGENCE — heavies and ranged together.

While an Omen rages, your runes arrive faster. Weather it, or watch it spill into the next wave.

UPGRADE THE FORGE

The end of a run is not the end of your progression.

Every boss you beat pays out Shards. Spend Shards between runs on permanent Forge upgrades and new elements for your loadout.

Clearing a difficulty tier opens the next, and some clears reveal new tools in the Forge. Five difficulty tiers to conquer:

Kindling

Wakening

Sundering

Ruinfall

Unmaking

Each step pushes Rune Force closer to its true endgame.

EVERY RUN IS A NEW DEFENSE

You will not always receive the runes you want.

You will not always have room where you need it.

And the build that carried your last run may collapse in the next.

Adapt your board.

Merge intelligently.

Choose your upgrades carefully.

Protect the Core.

The Rune Force is depending on you!
