Drift, dodge, and draft a build through neon Mars arena runs. Then make your own missions in Sandbox: paint terrain, place enemies, wire objectives and events, tune the rules, and publish Custom maps for other pilots to play.

What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“We want players and Sandbox creators to shape balance, maps, and tools while the game grows.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We currently expect Early Access to last about 12–18 months. That is a goal, not a fixed release date, and may change with player feedback.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We plan to improve balance, performance, readability and polish across the current modes, ships, cards, arenas and bosses. We also plan to expand Sandbox creation and discovery tools so more player-made missions can be shared and enjoyed. Feedback will guide the scope.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current Windows build includes five playable ships, five arenas, five bosses, 45 cards, Survival, Deadline, Boss Rush, Daily and Boss Lab, plus three difficulties, mutators and local progression. Sandbox lets players paint maps, place enemies, connect objectives and events, test missions and publish Custom maps through the Map Hub with a linked Discord account.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We plan to raise the base price when Early Access ends, approximately doubling it for the full release. Regional prices will vary.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Sandbox creators are central to our Early Access plans. Players can build and test Custom maps, publish them through the Map Hub, and share them with other pilots. We plan to spotlight standout creations and explore adding selected creator modes to the game with permission and credit. Discord playtests and in-game bug reports will also guide balance and polish.”

About This Game

THE ANOMALY ON MARS is a twin-stick arena shooter with drift: your ship keeps its momentum, enemy attacks are telegraphed, and every wave asks whether the build you assembled is still enough.

Make a mode in Sandbox. Build an authored mission from the floor up: paint terrain and cover, place enemies and bosses, connect triggers to objectives, dialogs, doors and timed encounters, and tune cards, base stats and mode rules. Fly and retry your design in the game. Publish Custom maps through the Map Hub so other pilots can download and play them; publishing requires a linked Discord account. We plan to spotlight standout creator maps and explore bringing selected modes into the game with their creators' permission and credit.

Sandbox logic canvas wiring chip conditions to encounters, a timed escape mission and an exit door beneath the heading Wire the Moment.
Live custom map attempt: a ship flies toward an open escape door after collecting six chips while an objective timer runs.

Build a run under pressure. Clear waves, choose a card from a three-card draft, and stack upgrades. There are 45 cards, branching card lines, rerolls, drops, and ship-specific options.

Read the arena, then move. Asteroids and breakable walls make cover matter. Comets, falling rocks, hazards, beams, mines, and enemy charges show you where danger is coming from.

Learn five bosses. WARDEN, LANCE, CHORUS, PRISM, and HIVE fight through changing phases. Survival brings a boss every fifth wave; Boss Rush puts the fights back to back.

Choose your way to play. Survival is an endless climb. Deadline gives you three minutes to score. Boss Rush is a boss ladder. Daily gives everyone the same seeded run for the day. Boss Lab lets you practise a chosen boss.

Chase a score on two boards. Keep personal bests on a local leaderboard, then compare runs on the global boards in game and on our website. Rankings are split by difficulty and show the ship behind each run.

Find your hull. Choose from VECTOR, BASTION, MOTHERSHIP, BOOP67, and the unlockable ECHELON. Each ship changes how you move, fight, and build a run.

Turn up the heat. Easy, Hard, and Dire difficulties change the pressure, while optional mutators reshape a run. Five arenas rotate the floor, palette, music, and cover as you go deeper.
