Howlbound is a cinematic sci-fi fantasy management RPG where you command Ironhaven, a mobile castle carrying one of the last functioning reconstruction systems in a shattered world.

Recover human consciousnesses lost during the apocalypse and restore them within cybernetic wolf-like bodies known as Lycans. Develop these persistent operatives, equip them for dangerous assignments, and direct them through branching node-based missions where preparation and command decisions determine what happens.

Combat unfolds automatically according to each operative’s statistics, equipment, abilities, behavior, and condition. Your role is to prepare the team, evaluate the risks ahead, choose a path, issue critical commands, and decide when completing the objective is worth the danger.

Direct Node-Based Missions

Every mission unfolds across an authored route of connected nodes. Deploy your operatives, investigate events, confront enemies, pursue optional objectives, and choose between branching paths.

Awareness can reveal information about upcoming dangers and opportunities, while equipment, utilities, previous decisions, and campaign conditions can unlock different solutions. Continue toward the primary objective or evacuate before the mission becomes a disaster.

Cinematic sequences portray travel, encounters, combat, and mission outcomes while the game’s RPG systems determine the results.

Develop Persistent Lycan Operatives

Lycans are not disposable units. Each one is a person with a recovered human identity, individual statistics, traits, abilities, equipment, memories, Mental Stability, and a lasting mission history.

Train and develop your operatives, assign permanent statistic improvements, define their combat roles, and watch their experiences accumulate throughout the campaign. Injuries, destruction, restoration, and psychological strain can follow them home.

A destroyed cybernetic body may be rebuilt through the Wolfsong Protocol, but restoring a person from a Neural Archive can carry lasting consequences.

Build and Protect Ironhaven

Ironhaven is your fortress, headquarters, factory, vehicle, and sanctuary.

Manage its resources, repair and improve its facilities, conduct research, treat damaged operatives, and expand its reconstruction capabilities. The castle’s growth provides new strategic options, but every advancement competes for limited time and resources.

Your choices determine what Ironhaven becomes, which lives it can save, and how it responds to the world beyond its walls.
