About This Game

Infinite Gambit is a chess roguelike where you build an army, power it up, and send it into automatic battles. Familiar pieces gain new abilities, gambits boost your attacks, and kings stack bonuses into devastating combinations. Your goal is to bring the enemy king’s health to zero before you run out of time and fighting strength.

Victory Begins with Placement

Choose pieces from your hand, set up your formation, and start the timer. From there, both armies act automatically, putting your plan into motion on the board. Which pieces will cover each other? Who will reach the enemy first? Which pieces should you keep in your hand for a useful effect?

Between rounds, bring in reinforcements and adapt to what remains of your original plan. Even a powerful army needs a smart formation.

• Collect gambits—combinations of pieces and positions that strengthen your army.

• Manage your hand and reserves: a piece on the board can offer different benefits from one kept in your hand.

• Keep track of your losses: reinforcements are limited in each battle.

Build Your Royal Court

Behind every strong army are kings with useful abilities. Some increase damage, others help you earn money, and others shine only under specific conditions. Combine their effects, strengthen your favorite pieces, and discover combinations where each bonus makes the next even more powerful.

The shop between battles is your chance to rethink your entire run. Spend on an upgrade now, or save for a purchase you can build a new strategy around?

Every Run Is a New Game

Infinite Gambit features 231 gambits, with 50 randomly selected for each new run. Discover opportunities among the formations you’re dealt, adapt to the upgrades available, and try armies you’ve never built before.

Complete 8 stages, with three opponents in each—and continue in endless mode after victory. Decide which battles will help you prepare for the main showdown, and test your strategy across 5 difficulty ranks.
