A wuxia card adventure where you can see the enemy's next move. Four factions, and every fork leads to a different jianghu. Stack the Vajra, ride the Flow, ripen the Scheme, endure the Inner Demon. And when the moment comes, stake all your Qi to break through the wall.

What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“The story mode is finished. What comes next is one new mode — one that lets you stay in the jianghu longer after that story is done — and it will take a while to build.

That mode is built directly on the combat you play now. The cards, the stacks and the breakthroughs have to settle before anything can be put on top of them. Build on a balance that turns out wrong, and both have to be torn up later. That is the order of the work.

But this is a game made by one person, and there is a limit to how many cases I can check with my own hands. Four sects each stack something different, and each sect's road forks. Where it is too easy and where people get stuck only shows when many players push at it in different ways.

So I want to sharpen the story mode together with you first, and then put the new mode on top of it.

The translation is the same story. Whether a wuxia term sits right can only be judged by someone who grew up using those words.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Six to twelve months. That said, I would rather measure by state than by time. When the new mode is in and the balance has settled, it goes to full release. If it runs late, I will write down why on the store page and in the community.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The big difference is one new mode. Separate from the story mode, a roguelike deckbuilding mode — laid out differently every run, meant to be attempted again and again — goes into the same game. Its name is already decided: Endless Jianghu.

It is not in the game yet. It arrives with the full version. The story mode stays exactly as it is.

Beyond that: more cards and relics, balance adjustments, and translation fixes.

I am not going to promise counts or volume right now. I would rather only write down what I can keep.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The story mode can be played from beginning to end. Four sects, three story routes per sect, 166 cards, 33 relics, the mind arts, breakthroughs and secret arts, the Chronicles of the Jianghu and the achievements are all in. The Nine Heavens are open as well — nine tiers you climb again at a higher difficulty once you have finished a run. Korean, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese and English are supported.

What is left is balance tuning, translation fixes, and quality-of-life work.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The price will go up when Early Access ends. Anyone who buys during Early Access receives the full version at no extra cost.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“The Steam discussion boards are open.

Feedback on balance and cards is most accurate when it comes with which sect, which road, and which battle you got stuck on. Send that and it goes straight into the next adjustment. Notes on the writing and the translation carry the same weight.

Korean, Chinese, English — whichever language you write in, I will answer in that language.”

About This Game

Step into the jianghu and you are one card, like everyone else.

Ace of Jianghu is a wuxia card adventure made by one person — a Korean wuxia novelist. Shaolin, Wudang, the Unorthodox Alliance, the Heavenly Demon Cult: become one of their four heroes and cross the jianghu. Each hero's story forks, and the road you take decides who you meet and how it ends. A fight that begins with a feud inside your own sect runs through the war that tangles the orthodox, the unorthodox and the demonic, until it reaches the shadow whose hand has closed around the whole jianghu.

Every sect fights its own way

  • Shaolin — Vajra. The longer you hold, the more it stacks, and the heavier your fist lands.
  • Wudang — Flow. Force you turn aside or slip away pools up, and what pools comes back on the blade.
  • Unorthodox Alliance — Scheme. It builds while you take the hits. Let it ripen, then settle the whole account at once.
  • Heavenly Demon Cult — Inner Demon. The price of the heaviest strike in the game. It eats your attack and your guard — and some arts feed on it.

Here, every card is a martial art. Win a fight and you learn a new technique, rest and you hone what you have learned, and let go of the moves that no longer serve you.

Combat you read a turn ahead

What the enemy is going for is written above their head. Block it, slip it, or put them down before it lands. The whole fight is in how you answer a move you can already see.

Hit a wall? Breakthrough — stake every point of Qi you hold this turn on climbing a realm. Make it and your sect's Secret Art enters your deck. Miss it and your Qi is gone, your turn ends there, and the enemy acts as shown.

And on the day that Secret Art is in your hand, pour in eight Qi and let loose a move that fills the screen.

A jianghu drawn in one breath

The art, the sound and the words all passed through one pair of hands — someone who has long dreamed of the jianghu. 160-plus ink-wash cards, 80-odd named figures, twelve endings.

This is not a story about ascending. No immortals, no elixirs, no rising to heaven. Only people, blades, and what people do to each other.
