The alarm went off. You hit snooze.

Now you have five more minutes.

Behind your eyelids there is a meadow, a wooden fence, and a great many sheep who are in no

hurry to cross it. You have a shepherd's crook. Every sheep that clears the fence pays you

in sleep dust, and sleep dust buys more sheep, a bigger swing, a sheepdog — anything that

keeps the morning at arm's length a little longer.

Then the alarm rings again, and you do the only sensible thing.

Five more minutes

• One long night. The clock on your nightstand is the whole game. It starts at 7:00, and every round you survive pushes it five minutes later — 7:05, 7:10, 7:15 — while you get better and better at not waking up.

• Swing, don't grind. Sweep the crook through the flock and send a dozen sheep bouncing toward the fence at once. Hold the button. Buy Auto-Hit and watch it swing itself.

• Sweep up the sleep. Every jump drops a mote of dust in the grass. Run the cursor through it and the numbers climb; leave it there and the morning takes it.

• Spend it on the sky. Upgrades are constellations. Open the Shepherd's Crook, the Drowsy Moon, the Golden Sheep, and watch each one light up star by star.

Watercolour meadows, a flock of hand-drawn sheep, and a lullaby that never gets loud.

Nothing here can be failed, nothing is lost but time, and the worst thing that happens is

that you wake up.

In the demo

The first night, the whole crook, the flock and the sheepdog, and the first
