Built on blackjack

SOFT 17 is a blackjack roguelite. You play real hands against the dealer: hit, stand, double, split.

A winning hand earns chips, multiplied by the MULT. Every table shows the score to reach and how many hands you get.

Items that push the MULT

After each table you clear, the dealer deals you three rewards. You keep one, and the shop sells more.

Every item serves a kind of hand: doubles, sevens, splits, five-card hands. Put together the ones that fit.

The climb

Three floors, each closed by a boss, then The House. Between tables you pick the next one on the map, by what it asks and what it pays.

The dealer sometimes offers a deal, and every floor has its shop. A missed table earns you a warning. Too many warnings and you are thrown out.

The Circle

What a climb earns goes down to your cellar, even when you lose. There you buy furniture that helps every climb after.

Beaten bosses move in and lend you their talent. Seven gambling games set up shop there, from the slot machine to the shell game. The last thing for sale is The House itself.

Four casinos, twelve difficulties

Every win opens something for your next climb. The three other casinos play a different blackjack: both dealer cards face up, a shoe with no tens, two hands that swap their second cards. Each difficulty you beat adds a new table or boss.

Act II: the poker nights

Once the Palace falls, The House invites you to its card nights. Four houses, four pokers: The House's own, the Vault Room and its seven cards in hand, the Club where every 2 is a joker, the Night Train and its double board.

You cheat there. Swap your cards under the dealers' eyes.

Together

Two to four players at one table, online through Steam or over a local network, at blackjack and at poker. Everyone plays their own hands and picks their own rewards. The route is put to a vote, and the Circle is shared.

Never played blackjack?

The dealer teaches you your first table, and your first poker night. After that, his advice whispers the right play.
