About This Game

Undercurrent: The Hollow Crown is a single-player dark fantasy roguelike built around turn-based card combat. You and your enemies compete for cards on a shared track. Combine the cards you claim into new moves, then decide which to play—and in what order. But the enemy in front of you isn’t the only one you need to watch.

Take What You Need. Mind What You Leave.

The card you need might be the one your enemy is counting on. Complete your own combo, or deny them a crucial piece? Every pick changes what comes next.

The shifting track and its mechanisms keep the contest moving. Think beyond the card you’re taking: what will your opponent get to choose from?

Not Every Enemy Waits Quietly

Each floor brings several enemies who fight you one at a time. Those waiting their turn can still interfere, disrupting your plans before they ever face you directly.

As one enemy falls and another takes their place, the threats change. A plan that carried you through the last fight may need rethinking.

From Cards to Combos

A card can help you now—or become part of something stronger. Play it immediately, or hold it for a combination? Discover new recipes that give familiar cards new uses.

You can only play a few cards each round, so a strong hand alone won’t carry you. Read your enemy’s intentions, choose your response, and put your cards in the order that makes them work together.

Find Your Own Way Through

Choose your route, discover recipes, and pick upgrades that shape how you fight. Build on the combinations you find, but be ready to adapt to the cards you can claim and the enemies ahead.

What Remains of a Kingdom

Her kingdom is gone. Her father’s sword remains.

The dungeon is swallowing the lands above and summoning the living into its depths. Driven into exile after the fall of the northern kingdom, Princess Delia carries her father’s blade. Now she too has been called below, where traces of her missing sister lead her deeper into the dark.
