Mod Complex is a turn-based roguelite about moderating group chats that should have been shut down years ago. Every hour, new messages roll in. Read them, work out who is joking, who is baiting and who is about to get everyone reported, then make your calls: approve, delete, timeout, ban.

Anything bad still on screen when you end the hour gets reported. Take too many reports and the server is reported to the FBI. Run over. Log back in.

Read the room

Nothing is flagged for you. Every server has eight regulars with their own voices, friends and grudges, and the only way to learn who starts things is to read how they type. Ban the loud one and their friends kick off. Ban the wrong one and you will answer for it.

• Seven servers, 56 regulars. From The Yapping Hall to Cozy Crafters Collective, the nicest server you will ever be insulted in.

• Over two thousand lines of chat. Arguments build hour by hour, and the chat reacts to what you do.

• A rule of the day. No financial advice. No posting your rank. No raisins. In anything.

• Things go wrong. Raids, ban evaders, impostors one letter off a real member, a co-mod who disputes your bans, and the owner watching.

• Every correct call pays. Build streaks and charge mod power for slowmode, purges and ban waves.

• Build your mod. Spend clout between shifts on 19 bots and 9 roles to hand out.

• Keep climbing. 9 mod styles, a five-rung shift ladder and 50 achievements that unlock new ways to play, not an easier game.

• A casino link you should delete. Or click it, and put your salary on blackjack. Play money only.

Clear all seven and the servers come round again, harder. Somebody has to do it. Nobody said it had to be done well.

Every line was directed and edited by the developer, so each community has its own voice and every message plays fair with the rules you moderate by. All text was written ahead of time; no AI runs while you play.
