About This Game

Today is your first day at ANSIA - Archivio Nazionale Statistiche Inutili Amministrative. [National Archive of Useless Administrative Statistics].

Your job is simple: review citizens' case files and decide whether to accept or reject them, following the regulations.

The problem? You never know whether yesterday's regulations still apply to today's people.

WHAT AWAITS YOU

  • A Rulebook that keeps growing relentlessly — salary thresholds, regional blacklists, parties "approved by the regime... er, by the Party currently in power," and increasingly nitpicky criteria to cross-check against each other

  • A shrinking paycheck, and steep fines if you fail

  • Your choices determine your fate: 4 different endings, from the most cynical success to an all-out flight from the job

ANSIA takes ispiration from Papers, Please and drops it straight into the sheer absurdity of Italian bureaucracy: forms upon forms, exceptions to exceptions, and the constant feeling that today's rule contradicts yesterday's
