Why Early Access?

“Averlyn is entering Early Access because we want players to be part of the game's journey as we continue to expand and refine the world.

The core Averlyn experience is already here: build and develop your town, farm, explore different districts, battle enemies and bosses, customize your character, discover wildlife, swim, fish, and play together with friends.

However, Averlyn is designed to grow over time. Early Access gives us the opportunity to continue adding new content, features, areas, quality-of-life improvements, and polish while receiving feedback from the community.

We want to make sure we're building the game alongside the people who play it, rather than disappearing into development for years and only discovering what works once everything is finished.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We expect Averlyn to remain in Early Access for approximately 6 months. This gives us time to continue adding content, polishing existing systems, addressing player feedback, and preparing the game for its full 1.0 release.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“Early Access is only the beginning of Averlyn. We plan to continue expanding the world and adding new content throughout development.

Future updates are planned to include more animals, new zones to explore, additional enemies, new clothing and customization options, new buildings, more crops, and many more features and activities.

We will also continue improving existing systems, adding quality-of-life features, fixing bugs, optimizing performance, and refining the game based on player feedback.

The exact content and timing of future updates may change as development continues, but our goal is to make Averlyn feel increasingly larger, more varied, and more alive as we work toward the full 1.0 release.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current Early Access version of Averlyn contains the core gameplay experience and is fully playable from start to finish.

Players can build and develop their town, farm crops, gather resources, explore multiple districts, fight enemies and bosses, discover treasures, interact with residents and wildlife, customize their character and home, swim, fish, and explore the world at their own pace.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We do not currently plan to increase the price during the Early Access period. However, the price may increase when Averlyn officially reaches its full 1.0 release, reflecting the additional content, features, polish, and improvements added throughout Early Access.

Players who purchase Averlyn during Early Access will receive the full 1.0 version when it is released, at no additional cost.

If we decide to increase the price for the 1.0 release, we will communicate this to the community ahead of time.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Community feedback will play an important role in the development of Averlyn throughout Early Access.

We will listen to player feedback, suggestions, bug reports, and general discussion from the community and use this information to help guide future updates and improvements.

We plan to use the Steam Community Hub and other community channels to communicate with players, share development updates, discuss upcoming content, and gather feedback on new and existing features.

Player feedback may influence balancing, quality-of-life improvements, new features, and future content. We will also use feedback and playtesting to help identify bugs and issues that may not have been found during our own testing.”
