What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“We want to improve Game Goose through real-world development workflows. The free preview invites developers to share their experiences, helping us identify issues and refine workflows to better support everyday asset management.”

Approximately how long will this software be in Early Access?

“We plan to launch the free preview on October 2, 2026, and expect to release the full version in Q1 2027. This timeline may change based on development progress and testing feedback. We will share updates through Steam Community announcements.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We plan to refine asset management workflows, the numerical design tools, and component extensions, while improving performance, stability, and usability. Specific improvements will be guided by feedback from the preview.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Core features currently include asset importing, browsing and quick preview, custom categories, workspace organization, and package export. The software is still being refined, so some features and interactions may change, and you may encounter unresolved issues. We welcome your feedback.”

Will this software be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The preview is free to use during the preview period. When the full version launches, free preview access will end, and the preview version will no longer be usable. Preview access does not automatically grant a license to the full version. Pricing and details on how to obtain the full version will be announced before its release.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We welcome bug reports, feature suggestions, and examples of how you use Game Goose in the Steam Community discussions. We will prioritize improvements based on their impact and development progress, and share updates through community announcements. Your experience will help us make Game Goose better.”

About This Software

Organize your files with ease. Expand your toolkit as you need.

Game Goose combines file management with plugin extensions for everyday collections and project development. Build a personal library of videos, study materials, important documents, and development assets such as images and sound effects, then add plugins to support the way you work.

File management: collect, organize, and preview

Import files and organize them by topic, purpose, or project using custom categories and nested subcategories. A masonry view and file type filters help you browse visually and spend less time navigating folders.

Hover over a file and hold the spacebar to preview images, audio, video, Markdown documents, and more. Keep holding the key and move your mouse to preview other files in turn. Looping playback for audio, video, and animated images makes it easier to choose images, audition sounds, and review clips.

Component Workshop: discover, use, and share plugins

Explore practical plugins in the Component Workshop to expand your toolkit and support creative and development work. For example, the Numerical Workshop helps you build data models and calculation blueprints, while design tools support visual creation.

Use existing plugins, upload and share plugins you like, or develop your own components to help grow the collection with other users.

Project organization: share assets and collaborate

Drag selected files into a separate workspace to gather the resources for your current project. Rearrange files and edit their organizational metadata without affecting the corresponding content in your main library.

Export your workspace as folders for use in projects or other tools. You can also package workspace assets or your entire asset library as a Goose Package to share with your team, preserving folder structure and category information. Team members can import it into Game Goose and use the existing organization, reducing repeated setup and making collaboration easier.

Application launcher: keep working in familiar tools

Add your everyday applications or in-house tools and associate them with supported file types. When viewing a file, use the corresponding application icon to open it and continue editing or processing.

AI Generated Content Disclosure

The developers describe how their game uses AI Generated Content like this:

Some source code used in Game Goose was created with the assistance of generative AI tools during development. All AI-assisted code was reviewed, modified, and tested by the developer. Game Goose itself does not provide generative AI features to users and does not generate AI content at runtime.
