About This Game

Summer of 1319. Starets Nikodim begins his journey from Tver, where he served as a princely scribe for 20 years.

Ahead lies a long road to the Monastery of Saint Nicholas, standing on the Zhabna.

The path will wind through many landscapes of Rus of that time — fields, forests, swamps, crossroads, villages, rivers, groves, and so on.

Along the way to the monastery, the starets can keep records of the people he meets. The number of pages is limited, and the book will represent the path he has walked — how exactly he walked it, whom he met along the road, whom he chose to record.

Nikodim is no longer young. At the start of the story he is around 50 years old. A scribe's sedentary life, forever bent arms, not the hardiest legs, shortness of breath — all of this will make itself felt on the road.

The events take place in Rus in 1319, in the lands of the Principality of Tver. War, robbers, refugees, devastation, burned villages — all of this is reflected along the road to the monastery.

On the path you will encounter many different events, the consequences of which depend on your choice: to speak or to pass by, to record or to forget a person, to turn off the path or to walk straight, to help or to refuse.
