Development Vision

We set out to create a real-time tactics game rooted in Chinese history—paying tribute to the heroes who came before us, and to the timeless gameplay of classics like Commandos.

We hope this unapologetically hardcore RTT will let you feel the raw courage of soldiers who charged into enemy fire with barely a handful of bullets, and the ingenuity and willpower they summoned against impossible odds.

To those who gave everything—who held the line with all they had, and shaped tomorrow with their sacrifice.

Core Gameplay

HanYangZao is a top-down real-time tactics game (RTT). You will lead a small Chinese resistance squad through battles large and small, finding a way to survive under heavy fire:

• Stealth & Assassination — Use shadows, noise, and blind spots in enemy patrols to eliminate targets silently

• Tactical Synergy — Coordinate a squad of at least five operatives, transitioning from stealth to open combat—showcasing the wit of a resistance team

• Environmental Interaction — Use tall grass for concealment, trip mines and landmines to disable vehicles, and turn the battlefield to your advantage

• Realistic Ammunition Management — Every bullet counts. Every grenade spent is one you won't get back

• Tactical Pause — Freeze time at critical moments to plan your next move

• Authentic 1937 War Experience — Short on food, low on ammo, desperate for medicine—and still holding the line

• A Truly Original Chinese RTT — Not a reskin. A tactical system built from the ground up

• Brutal but Fair — Failure is a lesson, not a punishment. Every retry makes you sharper

• Immersive Storytelling — No god's-eye view of history. Just ordinary people making impossible choices in extraordinary times
