About This Game

The light is running out

The world lives beneath a great stone Dome. There is no sun, no moon, no stars — only the crystals set in the rock above, burning borrowed daylight.

They are failing. Daylight grows shorter every year, and dark patches spread across the ceiling like frost. The scholars give the Dome two generations. Maybe fewer.

At the town's edge stands the Abyss Tower — older than the Dome, older than memory. Hunters climb it for treasure and glory. None has ever reached the top.

Your father was one of them. He went past the 50th floor and stopped coming back. He left you the farm, a locked drawer, and one line: "Don't believe the ones who say there's nothing up there."

Farm, hire, climb

• Grow 6 crops, raise 4 kinds of animals, and cook the meals that keep an expedition standing.

• Hire from a tavern roster of 9 mercenary classes — each with their own cards, rarity and temperament.

• Climb 130 floors: battles, elites, bosses, treasure, rest and traps. It keeps going below the bottom.

• Craft, reforge and enhance your gear. A blade at +20 is not the same blade.

• Crystals are your daylight. Spend them on the farm, or carry them into the Tower. Not both.

Battles you can lose

• Build a hand of up to 6 cards against a strict action-point budget.

• Four colours that prey on each other in a closed loop — bring the wrong deck and you will feel it.

• 72 cards, 24 perks, combos, damage over time, freeze, first strikes, counters, revives.

• One card, one mercenary: the card you play is the one who fights.

• Flee if you must — it costs you the round, and sometimes the whole trip.

• Dying doesn't end the run. It takes home half of what you were carrying.

And then, the drawer

Settle the townsfolk's long-running business, push past the 50th floor, and find out what your father was climbing toward. There are three endings. Only one of them is free.
