Refugee of a Lost Age is a survival simulation game centered around "resource choices". The dynasty is collapsing, soldiers and bandits run rampant, and you flee to a remote village. There are no heroes here, only a group of people struggling to survive — including yourself.

Survive

Food will run out, winter can freeze people to death, illnesses plague you, the government still levies taxes, and bandits seize grain. There are no rules in troubled times. To live to see tomorrow, you have no choice but to resort to any means — sometimes even deceiving and robbing others.

Choices of Human Hearts

New troubles arise in the village every day: will you follow hooligans to bully the old physician, or give your last handful of rice to the starving widow? When bandits block your door, will you settle the matter peacefully or risk everything to fight? Every choice you make is a matter of life and death, and the villagers will remember your deeds.

Careful Resource Management

When you cut down a tree: split it into firewood to keep warm through winter; forge it into a hoe for farming; give it to Old Madam Sun who urgently needs timber, and she will remember your kindness and repay you when you are in need; or burn it for cooking to secure a filling meal. Resources are limited. How you use them is up to you — every decision is vital to your survival.

Learn farming from the old farmer to boost your grain harvest; study craftsmanship from the blacksmith to get handier tools, conserve your strength, and obtain rarer resources; master cooking to turn coarse grains into a life-saving meal. With every new skill you learn, you move one step further away from starvation.
