What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Siegehand's core battles and collection systems are playable, and we want players to help shape how they develop. Early Access will let us test faction and deck balance, improve onboarding and controller usability, and refine progression, asynchronous runs and server reliability with a growing community. Match data and player feedback will guide changes as we develop the first four chapters.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We expect Siegehand to remain in Early Access for roughly one year. Our current plan is for Early Access to cover the first four chapters, with each chapter lasting approximately three months. This is an estimate: the timing may change as we respond to player feedback, balance testing and development progress. We will keep players informed if our plans change.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We plan to develop the first four chapters during Early Access, adding cards and refining the game through player feedback. For the full release, we aim to add two new heroes, along with new castles and monuments for each faction, creating more ways to build a deck. We also plan further improvements to balance, onboarding, controller usability, progression and online reliability. These are development goals, and their scope and timing may change during Early Access.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current build includes four factions and 339 collectible cards in the Foundations set, including 15 promotion reward cards. Players can build 30-card decks and win by completing their Monument or destroying the enemy Castle. Play live Ranked or unranked PvP, practise against bots, or take on asynchronous Expedition and roguelike Arena runs. Online asynchronous battles use AI-piloted player-deck snapshots, with generated opponents filling gaps. Collection features include pack opening, deckbuilding, quests, rank rewards, the Trader and an online auction house.

Offline play uses a separate save and offers bot battles, Expedition and Arena against generated decks, plus packs bought with earned Gold or Tokens and Trader purchases and sales. Offline progress does not transfer online; live PvP, the auction house and real-money purchases are unavailable offline. Online progression is stored on our servers. The game remains in active development, and card stats, costs and rewards may change during Early Access.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Siegehand is free to play, and we plan to keep it free to play after Early Access. Real-money pack purchases are disabled initially while we assess server stability; packs bought with earned Gold and Tokens remain available.

We may enable optional Steam Wallet pack purchases later. Gold is earned through play and is not sold. Paid packs contain gameplay cards, not just cosmetics, and use the same opening rules as the equivalent earned packs. Pack offers and prices may change, with prices and pack information shown before purchase.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We will gather feedback through Steam Community discussions and playtest reports, alongside match and progression data from online play. We will review how players learn the game, faction and deck matchups, collection progression, run variety and technical reliability. We plan to explain significant changes in update notes and revise our priorities as we learn from the community. Card performance will be assessed in its deck and matchup context rather than by a single win-rate number.”

About This Game

Siegehand is an early access online collectible card game, with Unranked, Ranked, and Asynchronous battle modes via Arena or Expedition. Collect over 300 cards, build massive war chests and rank up to collect promotional rewards.

Every turn is a choice

Your workers are your warriors. Send a minion to attack, or put it to work on your Monument. Most minions can attack or build once per turn; special abilities can grant additional actions. Hold the line, break through a defence, or build while your opponent is looking the other way. Destroy their Castle or finish your Monument to win.

Lead a faction. Find your own strategy.

Rally Ashgard’s banners, nurture the Sylvara Wilds, stand firm with the Stonevein Clans, or turn loss into strength with Grimmarch. Choose a Hero, Castle and Monument, then build a 30-card deck from your faction and neutral allies. Attackers, builders, defenders and spells all have a place at the table.

Play powerful, game-changing cards

Find the cards that make your strategy your own. Turn the battle with a well-timed spell, a resilient defender or a legendary arrival.

A rival across the table. A journey on the road.

Face players directly in live Ranked and unranked matches, or practise against five AI difficulties. Expedition and Arena are asynchronous: bring your own deck on an Expedition, or draft a new one for a roguelike Arena run. Face AI-piloted snapshots of player decks at your own pace; generated opponents fill any gaps. Along the Arena road, choose rivals, reforge cards and shape your company at illustrated crossroads before the final guardian.

Build a collection worth knowing

The Early Access Foundations set contains 339 collectible cards, including fifteen promotion rewards. Open five-card packs, discover holographic finishes and choose card backs for your deck. Visit Merric to buy common cards with earned Gold, sell duplicates and seal eligible cards for the online auction house. Promotion cards come from rank rewards, never from packs.

Selected opening sequence; rare reveals are not a typical-pack promise. Each Foundations pack contains five cards with at least one Rare or better. Base draw chances: Common 73.5%, Rare 20%, Epic 4.3%, Legendary 1.9%, Mythic 0.3%. Guarantees and pity can improve these odds; Rare-or-better cards each have a 1% Holographic chance; Common cards cannot be Holographic. Checked 28 September 2026; current and account-specific odds are shown in game.

Win the siege. Claim the War Chest.

Gold spent on cards and Hero powers fills a shared War Chest. The victor claims the chest along with their remaining purse. Consecutive qualifying live Ranked wins increase your win-streak Gold bonus. Expedition and Arena have their own run-progress multipliers. The in-game reward breakdown shows the bonuses and limits that apply.

Climb the ranks

Rise through Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond and Master. Ranked, Expedition and Arena have separate progression, leaderboards and promotion rewards. Earn distinct promo cards at new tiers from Silver through Master once their requirements are met. Chapter-end placement prizes reward qualifying players; the current Foundations chapter has no scheduled end date.

Your deck, your controls

Play with mouse and keyboard or a supported controller. Use the D-pad to navigate menus, the shoulder buttons to switch tabs, and your gamepad to inspect cards and control the battlefield pointer.

Online or offline. Your choice.

Choose online play for live PvP, player-deck opponents in asynchronous runs and the auction house. Or play a separate offline save, synced through Steam Cloud when available, with bot battles, solo Expedition and Arena, earned-currency packs and the Trader. Offline progress never transfers online; multiplayer and real-money purchases are unavailable offline.

Free to play. Optional packs.

Start with two free starter-deck choices and earn Gold and Tokens through play. Gold cannot be bought with real money. Real-money pack purchases are disabled during the initial stability period; earned-currency packs remain available. If enabled later, Steam Wallet purchases will offer packs of random gameplay cards with the same card pool and opening rules as the equivalent earned edition. Paid packs stay on the purchasing account while sealed. They expand your collection and are not limited to cosmetics.

Help shape the game

We expect roughly one year in Early Access, covering the first four chapters. Player feedback and match data will guide improvements to balance, clarity, progression and reliability. Card stats, costs and rewards may change during testing and Early Access. Foundations is playable now; later chapters remain development plans.

AI Generated Content Disclosure

The developers describe how their game uses AI Generated Content like this:

As a solo developer I have been using some generative AI tools to support the design of some card illustrations and backgrounds. These assets are prepared before release and through early access I intend to replace the majority of these assets with alternatives, where appropriate. Siegehand does not generate content using AI during gameplay.
