About This Demo

What's in the demo

One short 500m course, start to finish. It takes about a minute to reach the goal.

Same feel, same board as the full game — only the distance is shorter. Nothing was retuned
for the demo, so what you feel here is what the full game feels like.

You're the one moving

NEON WIRE is a breakout game that keeps going forward.

The floor grid and the wall lines stream past you, so it reads as you running rather than
the blocks approaching. The blocks ahead are more like walls standing in the road.

The lines wobble constantly, blur into a double stroke, and sit under a faint film grain.
Not clean CG — a wireframe with the hand-drawn wobble left in.

What you can't break, you dodge

Grey blocks cannot be broken, by any means. Depending on where they land, the ball won't
clear them for you — so moving the paddle out of the way is the answer.

Squeeze the paddle and you slip through narrow gaps, but you have less width to catch with.
Widen it and you reach further, but you're a bigger target for the blocks.

Pick a card

Breaking a block drops an XP gem. Gems are not magnetised, so only what the paddle
actually catches
becomes XP.

On level up you pick one of three cards. At this length you'll get one or two picks
enough to see how it works. Stacking those picks into a build is what the full game is for.

What the full game adds

  • Four modes — EASY 1,500m / NORMAL 3,000m / EXPERT 6,000m /
ENDLESS, which has no finish line and keeps piling on volume and armour
  • Around eight card picks per run — five actives (Pierce, Multi-Ball, Homing,
Nova, Gravity) and three passive axes, stacked into a different build every run
  • 14 achievements and a best score kept per mode
  • Blocks that harden as you go, slopes and curves, and colours that shift by area

Also

  • Japanese / English
  • Controller support (keyboard bindings are remappable)
  • Three separate volume sliders, adjustable screen effects, scanline and grain toggles
