About This Demo

This is the demo of The Hero's Road
The demo contains the first two acts in full - Act I (Black Forest and Crypt) and Act II (Ruins and Molten Fire) - along with all of their gatekeepers. When you finish Act II you will see "the demo ends here"; your Sanctum progress and unlocks carry over to the full game.

A node-based adventure with semi-automatic combat
You set out from a cathedral doorstep and walk the node map: battles, strange encounters, travellers, merchants, elites. Each act ends with a gatekeeper, and after Act III comes the finale - the Final Arbiter.

Combat needs judgement, not reflexes
You and your foe swing on their own. What you decide is what you carry, which road you take, and which tactic card you draw from your deck before each fight. The readout beneath the battlefield does the maths for you: your pressure, their pressure, how many turns to finish it, and how many hits you can still take.

Six paths that interlock
Crit, lifesteal, shield, burn, gold, low HP. At gate 10 you reach a Fate Shift: choose one of three roads and bind your loose pieces into one real thing.

Character, relic and event art, achievement icons and store images were made with generative AI under the developer's direction and then reviewed by hand. Generative AI also assisted with code and localization text. Nothing is generated at runtime and the game never connects to an external AI service.
