About This Game

Your weapons fire themselves. The dangerous enemies are your problem.

Type to Survive is a fast survival roguelike built around doing two things at once. Steer with the arrow keys while your weapons chew through the horde. When a shielded enemy or elite closes in, type the word over its head to break its defense and finish it before the crowd boxes you in.

MOVE WITH ONE HAND. FIGHT WITH THE OTHER.

There is no attack button. Your automatic arsenal handles the swarm while your keyboard handles priority targets. Correct letters lock in. Mistakes cost momentum. Getting hit can wipe your progress. As the arena fills up, choosing what to type—and when—is as important as choosing where to move.

BUILD SOMETHING RIDICULOUS

Draft upgrades during the run, stack synergies, and evolve nine weapons into screen-clearing monsters. Orbiting drones, flame, gravity, lightning and orbital fire all behave differently. Forty-seven upgrades and pre-run chips let you push each build in a different direction.

SIX HEROES. THREE ARENAS. ONE VERY LOUD CABINET.

Each of the six playable heroes starts with a distinct weapon and passive. Take them through Meadow, Ember and Frost in 10-minute, 20-minute or Endless runs, then raise the pressure with Agony and Torment. At eight minutes, one of six bosses joins the argument with multi-word attacks of its own.

CHASE A CLEANER RUN

Build typing streaks, charge a fully typed super, hunt local records, and take on a seeded Daily Run. The horde gets denser. The words get longer. Your hands have to keep up.
