The free demo of Sheepscape, a cozy sim about one shepherd, one dog and a field full of sheep. Take a Welsh smallholding from five muddy sheep to a flock worth something: herd them, shear each fleece at its best, sell the wool, breed a better flock and earn the deed to your next farm.

Über diese Demo

You, one dog, and a field full of sheep.

This is the free demo of Sheepscape: a small, focused farming sim that pours all of its care into one thing, a flock of sheep and the craft of raising them well. It's a complete slice, start to finish. You'll begin with five muddy sheep on a Welsh smallholding and build them into a flock good enough to buy your next farm.

Work the dog

Your flock won't pen itself. Walk your shepherd to the kennel, send the dog out, and watch the sheep break and flow: real flocking behaviour, not animals on rails. Read the herd, push from the right angle, and funnel them through the gate into the yard.

Shear by hand, at the right moment

Get a sheep into the shed and the clippers come out. Shearing is a hands-on minigame: clip the fleece, watch it peel away, and chase a clean, high-grade cut. Every fleece has a best moment, too. Shear too early and you leave wool on the sheep; wait too long and the fleece is past its prime.

Build a better flock

Sell your wool, then put the money to work. Buy fresh stock at the livestock market, or breed your own: in autumn the tups go to work, and come spring the lambs arrive, trailing their mothers across the field. Each lamb inherits its parents' breed and quality, so careful matches grade your flock up from Common all the way to Supreme.

Keep them well

Sheep get hungry and thirsty, and a neglected flock shows it. Keep the troughs full and the flock on good grass, and see them through a winter when the grass can't keep up. When refilling starts to feel like a chore, Farm Supplies sells bigger troughs. Bring the flock into the shed and they'll eat from your feed store, so pick up a sack or a pallet from Farm Supplies before you need it. Just don't forget them: a fleece left on too long, or a sheep kept in too long, spoils the wool.

Watch the seasons turn

A living calendar drives everything. Grass grows back where the flock has grazed, ewes come into season, lambs grow up, and old sheep eventually pass on. Speed time up to fast-forward to the next season, or slow down when there's herding to be done.

In this demo

  • A whole smallholding: the full arc of a Welsh smallholding, from five sheep to the deed for your next farm.
  • Your first sheepdog: buy her, and learn to work the flock together.
  • The whole loop: herding, shearing, selling wool, buying and selling stock, breeding and lambing, welfare and the seasons.
  • A farm that opens up: the livestock market, the Shearing Shop and the Breed Guide unlock as you work, your first winter brings a feed trough, and Farm Supplies sells bigger troughs.
  • Upgrade the shed: better clippers, better oil, more shearing stations, and hired hands to share the shearing.
  • A ledger for the flock: every sheep on one sheet, to sort, filter and pick out for sale.
  • About an hour to earn the deed to your next farm - longer at your own pace.

The full game carries on from the Home Farm deed: bigger farms that each take a chore off your hands, like piped water and a hired shepherd, more dogs, more breeds, and the climb to the open highlands.

Sheepscape is in active development by a solo studio. If you enjoy the demo, wishlist the full game and follow so you don't miss any updates!
