In Backwards, you are trapped inside an endless storage hallway where the environment constantly tests whether you understand those rules — and whether you can trust what you see, hear, and remember.

Every stretch of hallway can behave differently. Doors may open onto impossible places. The corridor itself may change around you. Some encounters demand patience. Others demand immediate action. What begins as a strange set of instructions gradually becomes the only thing keeping you alive.

Survival is not about combat. It is about observation.

Watch for movement. Listen for changes in the environment. Learn what it means to be watched, recognize when something poses a genuine threat, and understand when the safest direction is the one you were told never to take.

EXPECT THE UNEXPECTED

The hallway is built from randomized events, environmental anomalies, rule-driven encounters, and larger cinematic sequences designed to make every run feel unpredictable.

You may see familiar spaces behave differently, encounter impossible rooms, or watch the hallway itself become part of the threat.

KEEP MOVING BACKWARD

Most of the time, walking backward is enough.

Sometimes it isn’t.

The longer you survive, the more aggressively the hallway challenges the rules you thought you understood.
