What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“I plan for Industry Unbound to be a long-term project that continues to grow and improve. I admire the long-term dedication behind Stardew Valley, and I hope to bring the same patience and care to Industry Unbound over time.

The game already has core content to play, but I believe a game about factory building, logistics, research, and interstellar expansion needs to be experienced by many different players. Their experiences will help me find problems and make the game better.

Early Access gives me a chance to stay in touch with players throughout development, listen to their ideas, and continue improving the game together as this industrial universe grows.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“I expect Early Access to last approximately one year, or around 12 months.

However, there is still a great deal I want to create and improve in Industry Unbound. I also want to give the game the time it needs, so the actual Early Access period may be longer.

I will adjust my plans based on development progress and player feedback, and share important updates through Steam announcements.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“I hope the full version will build on the existing game with more developed systems and a wider variety of content. I also plan to complete and improve the 3D models and visual effects for all buildings, making the industrial world feel more alive.

There are also several ideas I hope to explore in the future, including:
- Combat gameplay.
- Raising giant creatures.
- More ways to create custom megastructure models.
- Steam Workshop support.
I can't wait to see the creative ideas and interesting ways to play that the community might share through the Workshop!

These are directions I hope to explore. The final content, implementation, and release timing may change depending on development progress and player feedback.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“In the current version, players can build a factory from the ground up: mining resources, planning production and logistics, researching technologies, and expanding to other planets and star systems. This journey can lead all the way to completing the Artificial Planet-class Starship, an endgame megastructure.

There are currently 10 types of megastructures available to build, along with late-game features such as black-box factories and the endgame Starsea.

The game is still in development. Balance, tutorials, the interface, and performance in large factories need further work, and players may encounter bugs. Future updates may change gameplay and balance, and major changes could affect existing saves. Relevant changes will be communicated in the update notes.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes. As more content is added and the overall experience improves, I currently expect the full version's price to increase by approximately 50–100% compared with the Early Access price. This would make it around 1.5–2 times the Early Access price.

The exact amount and timing have not yet been decided. If I decide to change the price, I will let players know in advance through a Steam announcement.

Players who purchase the game during Early Access will not need to buy it again when the full version is released.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“I want to stay in touch with players throughout development. You can share your thoughts through Discord, the Chinese-language QQ group, Steam Community discussions, Steam reviews, and other public communities and media.

I will read the messages I can find carefully and do my best to respond as promptly as possible. Suggestions, criticism, and concerns are all welcome.

I will take player feedback into account as I continue to improve the game, and share changes and development progress through update announcements.”

About This Game

Build an industry without borders

Industry Unbound is a single-player factory automation strategy game set on an infinite canvas. Begin with raw deposits and a fragile settlement, then design the mining, processing, power, and logistics networks that turn a planet into a self-sustaining industrial system.

Every building, route, cache, and power source belongs to the same living network. Place facilities, choose recipes, connect material-specific lines, manage throughput and congestion, and diagnose bottlenecks before shortages disrupt your plans. Power limits, construction supplies, storage, research, and human needs all shape the factory you build.

Plan, automate, expand

Build on an infinite canvas. Place mines, furnaces, assemblers, generators, storage, research facilities, and more where your network needs them.

Make logistics visible. Route individual materials, inspect line capacity and in-transit stock, and respond to blocked outputs or missing inputs.

Balance a real power grid. Match generation, storage, and demand as industrial expansion puts pressure on the network.

Research new capabilities. Produce and deliver physical research materials to unlock more buildings, recipes, and expansion options.

Keep settlements supplied. Reliable food, water, and industrial support let people survive, recover, and contribute to long-term growth.

Pursue planetary-scale projects. Coordinate construction and deliveries for major engineering milestones while your factory continues to run.

Learn the core systems through the in-game tutorial, then continue in an open-ended planetary mode where the next bottleneck, production route, and expansion plan are yours to solve.

Build Megastructures, Shape Your Own Cosmos

Channel your factory’s output into monumental space projects. Deliver materials and watch Dyson spheres and deep-space observatories take shape, powering industrial expansion and revealing distant horizons. In the Megastructure Workshop, freely combine components, build structural frameworks, and customize layouts, colors, and lighting to create your own megastructure designs—and place your creations among the stars.

AI Generated Content Disclosure

The developers describe how their game uses AI Generated Content like this:

Industry Unbound includes a limited number of pre-generated visual assets created with the assistance of generative AI. Each asset was selected, reviewed, and edited by the developer before release. Generative AI is not used to generate content in real time during gameplay.
