About This Game

Zombies on your taskbar. Good dogs on duty.

BarkBar is a cozy idle RPG that lives at the bottom of your screen. A pack of rescue dogs holds a narrow strip above your taskbar, bites through waves of zombies, grabs gold and loot — and gets stronger with every wave. The rest of the window is transparent: you work, the pack fights.

Plays while you work

• Fully automatic battles — no buttons to press

• The battle strip is just 1000×300 px; the rest of the window is see-through

• Clicks pass through empty space to the windows underneath

• Hides over fullscreen apps, has a power-saving mode (30 FPS) and three window sizes

• Picks up exactly where you left off

Three breeds, one pack

• Labrador — Eager Start: dives into every wave and bites 60% harder for the first 8 seconds

• Shepherd — Second Wind: once per wave, when health drops below 35%, recovers part of it

• Doberman — Keen Nose: +8% chance on every drop

• Up to three dogs fight side by side, each with its own level, gear and a ten-skill breed tree

• Bench any dog with one click and bring it back when you need it

Loot, gear and skills

• Six gear slots — collar, teeth, harness, paws, leash, tag — and every item shows on the dog

• Common, Uncommon, Rare and Epic loot; rare drops land with a beam of light

• Gold buys gear and upgrades; bosses drop bones for the skill tree — 40+ skills in total

• A threat marker on the map honestly tells you whether the pack is ready to move on

Zombies, werewolves and bosses

• Frozen Pines: ten locations, from the Snowy Trail to the Summit Camp

• Hundreds of waves of walkers, runners and brutes — plus werewolves that show up at the worst moment

• Named bosses: Biker Chief, Sheriff, Riot Captain, Slobber, Blobber, Undead Werewolf and the Brute King

• Every boss is a wall — gear the pack right and break through
