About This Game

The year is 1596. The Spanish Empire stands at the height of its power—and on the brink of crisis. Its wars have drained the royal treasury, its sea routes are under attack, and unrest is spreading throughout its distant colonies.

You are the last heir of a fallen baronial house, left with little more than a noble name, a family crest, and a mountain of debt. With the king’s permission, you gather your few remaining loyal followers and set sail for the New World.

There, among untamed lands, untold riches, and unknown dangers, you must build a settlement, restore your family’s honor, and forge a legacy that will endure for generations.

But something is waiting for you in the New World—an enemy unlike anything Europe has ever known, and one you could never have anticipated.

AN EPIC SINGLE-PLAYER CAMPAIGN

Lead the Spanish through an epic story and fight for the glory of your house, for Spain, and ultimately for the survival of the entire human race.

The campaign is deliberately asymmetrical, imbalanced, and unfair. You will face overwhelming forces equipped with weapons far beyond your understanding. Victory will not come from meeting the enemy on equal terms, but from adapting, exploiting every advantage, and surviving battles you were never meant to win.

Your only hope may lie in a mysterious metal found exclusively within the craters scattered across the New World—sites the enemy guards above all others. The alchemists known as the Theurges have given this substance a name: Ferrocorum.

The Spanish arrived in the New World as conquerors and brought the Aztec and Inca empires to ruin. But to the Supayari, the Spaniards are the natives—and this time, humanity stands on the wrong side of conquest.

AN OLD-SCHOOL REAL-TIME STRATEGY

Ferrocorum 1596 is an old-school real-time strategy game that pays homage to genre classics such as Earth 2140, Warcraft II, Warlords Battlecry, and Knights and Merchants and many others. At the same time, it offers its own unique blend of gameplay mechanics, from managing your economy to commanding large-scale battles.

Outside the Spanish campaign, fight standalone skirmish battles against the AI as any of the three playable factions. Defend the New World as the Inca, lead the Spanish conquistadors, or command the Supayari—the mysterious machine race threatening the survival of humanity.

One of the game’s defining features is the automatic production of units without resource costs. This keeps the battle moving at a brisk pace, reduces tedious micromanagement, and opens up new tactical possibilities on battlefields where entire armies clash.

AI Generated Content Disclosure

The developers describe how their game uses AI Generated Content like this:

Generative AI was used throughout the development of Ferrocorum 1596, including programming assistance and the creation or refinement of visual assets, animations, user-interface elements, music, sound effects, and character voices. The game’s story and overall narrative were created by the developer without the use of generative AI.

Mature Content Description

The developers describe the content like this:

Ferrocorum 1596 contains stylized wartime violence shown from a top-down perspective. Human units fight with spears, rapiers, firearms, and heavy mechanical weapons. Combat includes impact sounds, death cries, brief death animations, bloodstains, and bodies that remain visible on the battlefield. The violence is not shown in close-up and there is no dismemberment or exposed gore. Non-combat units, including workers and doctors, can also be killed.

The game includes a command labelled “Suicide,” which instantly kills selected player-controlled units. This uses the standard death animation, sound, body, and bloodstain; self-harm is not otherwise depicted as part of the story.

The game explores themes of war, colonial conquest, and conflict between Spanish and Inca forces within a fictional alternate-history setting. It contains no sexual content, nudity, rape, non-consensual sex, or depictions of alcohol or drug use.
