About This Game

The plan will not survive the shift

The published operation looked clean when it left planning. It will not stay that way.

A captain calls sick. An inbound delay eats into the next duty. A grounded aircraft breaks its evening rotation. The problems arrive separately; the consequences do not.

Ops Normal is a single-player airline operations simulation. You inherit a working schedule and take responsibility for recovering it—not for designing an airline from a blank map.

Recover aircraft, crew and pairings

Use standby and reserve coverage. Swap or reposition aircraft. Rebuild pairings, arrange positioning travel and manage unplanned layovers. Each decision changes where people and aircraft will be, what remains available and which later flights are exposed.

  • Track flights, aircraft rotations, crew coverage and pairings from one operations workstation.

  • Respond to sick calls, no-shows, delays, weather and technical disruptions.

  • Preview key recovery actions before committing them.

  • Watch standby coverage, spare aircraft, costs and future conflicts.

Legality is a hard limit

Crew must be qualified, rested, available, in the right place and legal for the duty. Recovery checks explain why an option is blocked and expose the consequences of valid changes. An illegal assignment is never a shortcut.

Every fix spends something

The spare aircraft that saves one departure may leave another rotation exposed. The crew member who solves today's problem may be needed tomorrow. The fastest answer may cost more, and the cheapest may leave the operation brittle.

Balance safety and legality, on-time performance, crew management, cost and communication while the schedule continues to move.

Work the shift, then answer for it

Act early, protect the coming days and leave the next shift an operation it can use. Your end-of-shift report records what you recovered, what it cost and which problems travelled downstream.

Tune complexity, guidance and disruption pressure separately, without turning legality into a difficulty slider.
