About This Game

This is my first and last message for you. The coordinates on the postcard will take you to the site where the machine is, the USB drive contains all ADID knows about ORISON. Sorry for the missing info you'll find there, this is the only version of the file I had access to. Everything is in your hands now.

WHILE YOU'RE IN THERE YOU WILL

• Always remember why you're here. For years this machine hosted a website no one could trace or take down. People from all over the world sent it what they couldn't say anywhere else and it kept everything safe while governments and agencies were ready to spill blood trying to get in. There's no owner, no one left to answer for it. Except for ORISON.

• Read letters, diaries, thoughts, listen to recordings, look at photographs, drawings, last words, websites and whatever else the archive decides to show you.

• Run commands to understand the machine and its files. Dates, passwords and hidden entries may be one command away.

• Read between the lines of what people submitted. Some of them never believed in the anonymity, and others said things that would have had them locked up within the week.

• Defend the machine when the deletion programs arrive. Plenty of them tried to get inside and failed, and now they'd rather see it burn with everything still in it.

• Study ORISON the way you study the files. Watch what it shows you, when, how and most of all: why.

• Expect ORISON to be watching you the whole time. It sees the files you open and the ones you close after two lines, which websites you go to, the folder you almost clicked on and then didn't. Sometimes it tells you right away, other times it waits and you hear about it much later, when you don't even remember doing anything. Some things are silently noted and never mentioned to you. There are no right answers to pick in there, there is only what you do.

Don't trust anything or anyone but your instincts. Don't try anything stupid. This is the best chance we have to turn all of this around.

ORISON is a solo project. I wrote, designed and built all of it myself, pouring everything I had into it.

This is a game about humanity and feelings. My only wish is that by playing it you will discover something new about yourself, or remember someone you thought you had lost.
